Does the 2007 1.8 use a silver calcium battery? I have checked the manual, but it doesn't specify one is needed.

Petrol. It has a GS LBN3 MF fitted.

GS batteries are owned by Yuasa, so should be good:

Can't find the code that you supplied on their website, but, putting in 2007 1.8 petrol hatchback, it shows the correct battery code as SMF075

I would check the battery measurements of Length 242mm Width 175mm Height 175mm with your battery, and, if the same, you need an 075 battery.
