Quoted close on £150 from my local ford dealer for em. Plugs were only £4 each plus vat, but the leads are £27 odd each plus vat.

Have you guys used aftermarket ones without problems? If so, what make, and where from?

Cheers fellas.

My old mechanic (and personal friend). Used to be a Ford mechanic. He told me to always use genuine ford plugs. At the time I was a mature student so was skint, so used to help me out as much as he could. However with plugs it had to be proper ford ones.

Thanks for the links Eddie, but they're not original Ford items which i'm led to believe are best to go with.

Hi Mogs I have had no problems with NGK spark plugs or a set of plug leads that I have bought of eBay

ford don`t make spark plugs they just stamp the logo on them to charge you a bit more, ngk or Bosch plugs will give you no problems. have you had a look at what brand you have fitted in the car allready 🙄

I wasn't referring to the plugs not being Ford items, I was referring to the leads 🙄

I have heard people say that poor quality leads cause the coil packs to fail earlier. I don't know if it's true or not. What is the problem with your existing leads? I wouldn't replace them unless there is a problem.

Actually nothing at all mate. Cleaned the Air Flow meter and all is well with the world.....until today, but that's another story 😞

Have used leads from a local shop here costing £30 with no problems whatsoever, in fact they cured a very light misfire I had. As to the brand name, not 100% sure but could have been ‘Intermotor’
