Does anybody else same trouble as me pulling out at a junction or roundabout in first gear is like seeing your life flash before never known such a slow car. Every time I do it I nearly have to change my pants.

Yeah, they're all the same.  The only fix is a remap!

Same here...until I got the remap.  I got the EGR blanked and deleted at a separate time and I thought this made more of a difference tbh, but maybe the map was also updated at that point.

It is the standard EGR mapping that's the main issue imo, you can watch it open on live data just as you pull away which causes the dead spot.  You can overcome it by pulling away at full throttle but that's not really appropriate!

A remap (done properly) can make a world of difference to performance and general driveability.

I've read that 1.6 TDCi does not like the EGR blanked off, it can cause excess back pressure that can kill the turbo.

Just stick to a remap

It's blocked DPFs that cause back-pressure against the turbo.  Blanking the EGR triggers the EML and limp until it's mapped out on these, it doesn't cause any mechanical issues though.

It is of course an MOT fail now though, so not recommended.
