Hi Guys, looking at dropping a sync 3 into my 2013 ST does the guide change at all seeing the ST has a reverse camera?

Hi, I'm trying to source parts for BVC to Sync 3 upgrade, are the codes for the apim etc very specific as there are so many that vary by the odd letter.

you need the sync1 to sync3 guide, ST cars as far as i know don't come with BVC

give us a pm, i do supply and fit the upgrade.

only thing you need to make sure that the apim is either nav or non nav. they can be programmed suitable for a focus

Does anyone know if an upgrade harness is available and sold in UK to upgrade BVC to Sync 3 as this one sold in US

The cost and then shipping etc makes it very expensive so I'm looking for the same cheaper here so I don't have to manually rewire everything

In the middle of upgrading BVC to SYNC 3

After removing manual heater panel I noticed there is a second connector plugged into plastic dash behind as of it's ready to use/upgrade heater panel? Has anyone come across this What is it for

Can I swap/upgrade heater panel?

How much was it roughly? Did you still need to run cables from the obd port?

I've seen a set for sale that comes with that looks to be the SYNC3 ACM with a SYNC2 APIM, is that right? Would that work?

I don't have a camera but have rear parking sensors and believe I had to get a specific old module for them (BM5T-15K866-AK), will they still work with this upgrade? Also my USB and line in is in the glove box.

I have a 2013 ford focus with the DAB radio. It has 2 connectors going into the back of the main unit, along with the dab aerial and the normal aerial. One is the main power connector, and I think the other one may be for Sync.  I have purchased an Xtrons android unit, but it has a large 54 pin connector, which I don't have. Is there an adaptor that I can buy to use this with my current wiring?

I'm planning on doing the BVC to Sync3 upgrade for my Focus Mk3 Titanium later in the year. 

I have a question regarding the main parts (8" Touch Screen, APIM and ACM). How specific do the serial codes have to be?

In example:

for the APIM (in this guide listed as JM5T-14G370-GNC), I've found a APIM with the serial code HM5T-14G370-GNF.

Is there a specific letter I have to watch out or will any Sync3 radio combo work (if I recall correctly, I've read somewhere that a specific letter reffers to a NON-NAV or NAV unit)?

Note anything with a 2019+ date could be an "MY20" APIM which is not possible to upgrade to SYNC 3.4 software (if you want to go from 3.0 to 3.4 once installed).

From what I can see it is a unit from 2016. Actually yes, the description does indeed say it's a nav. unit.

So if I understood correctly, it's better to get an older APIM (non "MY20" APIM) since those ones brick if upgrading to 3.4? I'll probably hit up few local junkyards to check for any parts and decide which one I'm going to get.

everything is working as it should apart from assist parking (parallel park) I’ve updated the firmware of my PAM but still not working, so anytime it’s  activated it says driver cancelled. Have master reset sync after updating the PAM but still no joy

if I was to purchase a near PAM will this resolve this error? Not completely bothered as don’t use the feature but still nice to have everything working 

 

 

This is usually just a setting that needs changing in the BCM or module. I'm not sure on the exact setting as I don't have PAM but I'm sure we can find it...
