CraigV
Hi there. Our company owns a 17 plate Transit Dropside still under warranty. Recently the key got stuck in the ignition. I called the HQ of a reputable Ford retailer to ask if this sort of thing is covered under warranty. I was advised by someone in the relevant department that unless there is foul play in most cases this is covered under warranty. So I booked the vehicle in for repair at a local store. Today we were advised that the key is worn so this isn’t covered by the warranty. Does this sound right? Has anyone been in a similar position with a vehicle less than 3 years old? Milkman
Sounds like they are 'fobbing' you off. How hard or expensive would it be for them to cut and code you a new key? What about the spare key, does that one make any difference?, if not then it's the barrel. A new key is probably much cheaper than a new ignition barrel. Whichever it is, barrel or key, both should be covered.
