Been to Sandicliffe Ford this morning.   Everything sorted.   They have supplied a spare wheel with a brand new tyre.   I'm picking it up on 1st October.

Wow you are really patient Bob 😁

  • Back in the late 60s I was walking the touchline at Nottingham Forest FC when a youth spat at me.   I knocked him out and the crowd applauded.   Think it might have a different response nowadays?

  • Just picked up the car and I am absolutely delighted with it.   Don't mind paying the tax as they gave me a full tank of petrol to make up for it.

  • This is the actual car.

That's made me feel better Bob. I popped into the local garage early last month to arrange the MoT/Service on my wife's car. He asked when it was due and I said "end of February" which earned me a funny look. That's when my car is due, I should have said end of September. Doh!😀

Thought Darwin had paid out this morning but when I checked my bank it was £10.80.   It was a refund as I am doing a lot less mileage than the 7000 I declared because of the covid rules.

Just had a very pleasant surprise.   After Darwin had paid off the finance on the old car I was expecting to receive around £2500.   Just checked my bank and they've just paid in just over  £4000.   I think that the difference is in the interest that I would have paid over the next 4 years.   After I have paid the deposit on the new car I shall have a very tidy sum left over.   😎   I can feel a holiday coming up.

Yes, Manchester can be very nice this time of year 🤣

Deposit paid and all paperwork completed.   All I have to do now is wait until the 1st (I won't say which month) and go and fetch it.🚔

I'm thinking of buying a RMENOOR Steering Wheel Lock "Fits most steering wheels (the diameter is up to 34 mm )"   Can anyone tell me if it will fit on a Fiesta steering wheel please?

Probably will, but if you want a proper steering lock, get a DiskLok... you more than most know the hassle of returning to a car that isn't where you left it, worth the extra money!

can use it as a weapon to fight off car jackers too.

I'm inclined to agree with you mate.   Any idea what size I need for a Fiesta?

I'm 99% sure it's a 'small', I've had mine for nearly 20 years now used on multiple cars, it fitted them all from a Merc C class to my current Focus! Yes, they're not cheap, but it's a lifetime purchase, just don't lose the keys!

I never fail to be amazed by modern technology.   The dashcam (Nextbase 322GW) arrived today; connected it to the laptop for 2 hour to charge it as instructed.   Downloaded the instructions and there is an app to go on my iPhone.   Downloaded that and, to my amazement, my phone connected to the camera by Bluetooth, connected the camera to the wifi and downloaded the latest firmware onto the camera.   There's some very clever people out there.

Deleted.

Not too much longer. Sucks having to wait. 😄

Seems like I am very late to the party (haven't really be on the forum that much of late).

Having just read the whole thread, sorry to hear that the car was stolen but good to see you're almost sorted out with the replacement and the insurance etc. is paying out quite quickly.

I guess it would be strange of me to ask for the touch up kit back now you don't have a red car  (I really am not asking for it back btw.).

I said earlier that the car had been valued by the assessor at £10,800.   However, I got a letter from Darwin Insurance yesterday saying that the value was, in fact, £10,950 so the assessor must have changed his mind after he spoke to me.   That's only £50 less than I paid for it almost exactly a year ago.

That's something else that was in the car Yaz.   It's so annoying; I keep remembering things that were in the car.   Don't suppose you have a spare touch up kit for a grey car? 😎

Was that sat next to the laptop, jewellery and gold bars? [emoji6]

If anyone buys one of these dashcams please be aware that it is not at all happy with a normal micro sdxc U1 card.   It requires a U3 card.   It will accept up to 128 gig which is what is recommended if, like me, you buy the rear view attachment.

Took Stephen's advice and bought a Disklok.   Amazon sell them for £130 but I bought it from https://www.carnoisseur.com/ for £109 including delivery.

I use one of them yellow steering wheel locks on my 61 plate fiesta. I feel a bit of a wally using it, but it does make me feel a bit more settled, even though it's a 61 plate fiesta!😂
