Yeah, but the farmer got very annoyed about it!😀

How do you think they do it now?  VR headset!?

I hated biology lol, chemistry was ok but physics was really my area!

My father does a lot of work in biological fields, and I took A-level biology so trying to channel some of that basic knowledge here haha!

Happy we can share our knowledge in this stuff 😂

Well that probably trump's my A in GCSE triple science...

You did better than me 😂. Did triple science and got a C for biology and physics and B for chemistry. Went to the worst secondary school in my borough

I did well in biology and chemistry but was naff at physics- so the opposite of you Tom! I remember doing a lung and hear dissection, I would’ve had to miss out on an eyeball if we did that, too squeamish for that!

Interesting thing I found in physics was stuff to do with cars such as speed, distance and time and stuff like terminal velocity. My degree and masters is more biology, immunology and microbiology based so physics is out the picture for me 😂

My neighbour who is mid-80's went for hers yesterday to the site I mention above. I guess there'll always be a difference between NHS areas.

My neighbour seems ok from the experience, no reported issues.

My neighbour on the other side told me (from a safe distance!) her Dad also had his jab at the same site. Just seen him walking past on his constitutional at his usual brisk pace, so obviously no problems there so far, either.

I see in the news there's yet another new strain of this Plague out. A few scientists are actually saying the vaccines might not be 'as effective' at stopping it. Guess by the time I get the jab it's going to be useless. 😤 I would still take the Oxford one tho. (Not going to take the RNA one cos it's too new on the scene - that's just my opinion tho).

Don't get why Boris announces travel bans weeks before enacting them which makes them useless. And I couldn't believe there were 14 flights a day to and from China until the Chinese banned all flights in response to the new UK strain! 😲

Another thing that bugs me is the way the BBC constantly say how badly the USA is handling this Plague yet the US has 5x the population and no NHS? US: 3744 deaths today, UK: 1280 - or to put it another way we are 1.7x the death rate more than the US.

It's a 'pandemic', a virus that has infected worldwide, the 'plague' is a very emotional term and is technically incorrect.

A few of my mates say our current vaccine will adequately cover the new strain...

Not taking 'the jab' because of speed of development is a futile argument. It takes 200 men to paint the Forth Bridge in a year, imagine 2000 men being put on the job, any worse a job? Every research lab in the world has been put onto a vaccine with unlimited funds - bound to be quick!

Four days now since I had my jab. No side affects so far, not even a sore shoulder where it went in which is quite common I am led to believe.

Indeed! 😁 And actually that is a v good point... (as were your others!)

Do you all remember the BBC News wheeling out a 'scientist' every half hour all through March to tell us that wearing a face mask was completely useless as the virus was only transmissible by touch? Good thing I don't pay a TV license! 😋 ......(cos I don't watch live TV, of course. Isn't it all Netflix-and-chill these days?)

You can't watch iPlayer without a TV licence now afaik.  Netflix and Prime should be ok though.

No tv license here also.Swap around between Netflix, Amazon Prime, Disney, YouTube,Discovery Plus and listen to Talk Radio.Given up on the BBC👍

I hate adverts during programmes.  I tend to watch 3-6 minutes of a BBC programme every time I commercial break comes on another side...  Is that worth the licence fee?  Probably not!

I'd rather BBC just had ads at the end of each programme than charging a licence fee though.

OMG, thought that was just me LOL I even have a timer beside me with a permanent 5 minute countdown so I don't forget to flick back!

Haha, I've got pretty good at gauging it.  It differs between channels, ITV 1 is sometimes only 3 minutes, Drama is often over 5 minutes!

Also, after owning my TV for the last 9 years, I recently discovered the 'last channel' button to flick back with one simple press!

We have a hard disk recorder, we never watch anything live. the remote control for the recorder has a skip button which is very good at finding the end of the adverts however long they last. I think it looks for breaks in the sound that tend to occur between the adverts and the program. Haven't seen an advert for years.

Duplicate post deleted.

The only 'commercial' show we watch live is Corrie! (Standard 5 minute break, easy to bypass...)

Just had the flu jab. It's the first vaccine I've had in maybe 40 years.

It'll be interesting to see if I get any side effects.

Guy, have a look inside the Paracetamol box you have in your cupboard, pull out the PIL (Patient Information Leaflet), and read the potential 'side effects'. I am on 14 different medications, and can't even count the combined potential side effects! Stuffing anything inside your body has the potential to cause something! If it's something that keeps you awake at night, stick to a cup of Horlicks for any ailments LOL

It's not very often  I get cold or Flu at all so I haven't taken up the offer of a Flu jab.

I'm not one for needles either.

Fingers crossed you don't get any side effects Guy just a bit of Focusitis won't be a bad thing 😄

Is there much left of flu season?  Nan had hers back in November I think.

She likes to watch it being done as well.  I know not everyone hates needles but would expect most to at least look away!  :ermm:  Sadly, I didn't inherit that ability...I can't even see them on TV without coming over faint.  It's a good job I'm not diabetic.

Wouldn't that be inflammation of the Focus?  Doesn't sound ideal...
