As for the size of the text, I literally just copy and pasted the text from the article and couldn't figure out how to make it smaller with the new layout. I have been to spec savers and have a pair of glasses, they are very local, and not far to travel to thank for your concern😆

Not quite the same as being tied down and forcibly injected, but certainly removes much of ones free will.

My goodness man, you are obsessed with being 'forced' to take the vaccine! Honestly, take it if you want, refuse it if you want - it's really not worth losing sleep over...

Exit from lockdown?  I thought this was life now...

Seriously though, we won't be out of lockdown before Easter imo.

Easter 2021 or 2022 ?

There is NO "exit from lockdown".  Any measures will be slowly released and we will be living with covid for years.  Anti vaxxers just make this worse.

Australia and New Zealand are becoming largely covid free because they locked down early and they obeyed the rules.  A lot less entitled anti maskers.

I know this from old friends and family that have emigrated there, not Google.

There is no sane reason to object to a vaccine apart from if you know you are at risk from allergic reactions.

Of course a delay in vaccination means a delay in easing restrictions.  The ONLY ways out of this are vaccination or letting people die.

IIRC it was mentioned in one of the Daily briefings  that we might have to live with Covid by JVT or was it Chris Whitty 🤔 a few weeks ago.

It was the guy with the grey hair and glasses, scientific adviser I think?

The idea seems to be that it ends up like flu though, where a few people are expected to die from it each year, without it impacting the whole society.

More vaccination will mean we reach herd immunity more quickly.  A delay in this will delay the ease of restrictions.  There is never going to be a day when Boris goes "right lads, business as usual".

I think Covid will become like the flu, annual vaccinations and a small amount of deaths.

Anyway, this is a fruitless conversation.    This is a car forum, I'll stick to car posts.

I understand that some people are actually exempt...

Maybe you can force them to wear one anyway? I have worn a mask out in public since last March well before it was mandatory, and withstood the 'odd' looks I got. If you wear one you'll have some protection. Just like if you get vaccinated, you'll have some protection.

Like I told you before, get vaccinated or don't get vaccinated, wear a mask, or don't wear a mask. Whatever your conscious guides you...

Hey bud, the mask covers up my ugliness LOL

I really doubt that is a good idea 100% of the time,

Ooppsss, that was sarcasm 🤣

Mask wearing is mandatory, not a choice.

Yep, mandatory, unless of course, you offer that you are exempt...

20 minutes ago, mokes said:

Therefore NOT a choice!

I think your best input so far was to say that you were going to stick to car posts.....🤐

That wasn't me buddy LOL Oh, it is a 'choice' if you say you don't want do something when asked 🤣

You're right, my apologies. I get you two mixed up.

No need to apologise, we're all human...

Still, your understanding of choice is misguided.

Just like I now choose to ignore any further debate on my understanding of choice LOL 😄

Hi guys,  I had a three week dollop of covid last November,   yes,   I will have the jab,  and wear masks, I'd even wear a condom if it helps,  lol.

Now, is that to prevent one of the new strains? 🤣

It'll only work if you wear it on your head...making sure to cover both your nose and mouth!

It may be difficult to wear a face mask and a condom over your head at the same time, in fact I think wearing the condom over your head may be enough difficulty on its own. I know the face masks help with not breathing the germs in but you will need to breathe at some point, could always walk about with a paper bag over your head😁

I fear you have given this condom issue an awful lot of thought, that's a bit disturbing in itself 🤣 Next you'll be recommending the Astrazeneca condom over the Pfeizer one LOL

It amazes me people either choose not to wear a mask or are exempt.

So ok they don't wear a mask then catch Corona virus, and go to intensive care.

So now they need a ventilator tube stuffed down their windpipe for several days, not to mention several tubes stuffed up their nostrils.

Give me the preventative mask everytime!!

I'm amazed that you're amazed!

In 2017, almost 800 people in the UK who died in car accidents were not wearing a seat belt (source - Department of Transport). It's been the law for decades, yet people choose to ignore it, and think they know better.

What does surprise me is there is no official proof of exemption that I can find and you can freely obtain Sunflower lanyards or similar online, no questions asked.

I followed a young couple into my local Tesco the other day who were both apparently fit and well but had lanyards. The security man did pull them up and ask them each to get a trolley and shop separately, but he accepted their claim of exemption though I doubt he believed it.

1 minute ago, mokes said:

Its a choice apparently.

No 'apparently' about it. As already said, if you want to go into a shop without one, you just have to say 'I am exempt', (if you want, you can expand on 'respiratory' issues, 'anxiety' issues whatever). If you are caught doing 90mph on a motorway, you are NOT exempt no matter what excuse you try to offer...

The thing is, the only 'official proof' you may get is medically based. People now can't even get routine check ups for cancer issues, never mind going to a doctor for a 'mask' evaluation. Hence, the government stance to 'mandate' the wearing to pacify public opinion that they are doing something. Even though the 'mandatory' status is a farce.

(I'm playing devils advocate as I am a fervent mask fan!)

I should have been clearer that I was more meaning any evidence a patient may have of a condition, such as prescription, appointment letters, etc, rather than getting something specially for the purpose. Mind you, afaik they've never specified which conditions would make you exempt anyway! So it's a bit of an honesty thing I guess, and from what I've seen, most people have been pretty good about it, to be fair.

Lol, I can be a bit of a devils advocate myself, so I usually see where you are coming from. I only use a normal mask though, not a fervent one!😃

I’m surprised how compliant customers are.I haven’t seen any shoppers without a mask so far.Perhaps it’s time the government introduced mandatory wearing of hermetically sealed suits.I’m sure all those enthusiastic mask wearers can’t wait👍
