Fiesta Mk6 Emissions failure.

Featured Replies

Ford Fiesta 2003 Mk6, 1.2L Duratec.

Hi, took my fiesta in for it's MOT today. Failed for the following reasons:

• Exhaust hydrocarbon content after 2nd fast idle exceeds default limits (8.2.1.2 (b)) - MAJOR
• Exhaust carbon monoxide content after 2nd fast idle exceeds default limits (8.2.1.2 (b)) - MAJOR
• Exhaust Lambda reading after 2nd fast idle outside specified limits (8.2.1.2 (c)) - MAJOR

Advisories:
• battery light on battery went flat on test

I feel like the answer is obvious but I'll say this regardless,

My car has been on stands since december whilst I made replacement brake lines.

I took it back to be retested immediately after finishing the repairs, I'm guessing because it hasn't been run at all since December, and I only drove it a short distance to be tested, it didn't have enough time to run properly.

I'm assuming the fault is all my doing for not running the car long enough before it's MOT.

The battery was kept indoors and charged frequently.

Any other suggestions are appreciated.

Thanks
