I have a Ford ecosport 2016 with size 17 tyres.?recomended pressure, front 31, rear 26. Want to put more pressure in. Can go to 35 front and 39 back. But when I try more, I get wheel spin at front.!any advice please

The more pressure you have in your tires the less surface grip you will get.

if you want more pressure in the tire, you will need to add additional weight to the car to get better grip.

The minority of cars will have a sticker on the inner side of the passenger/driver door, and it will show you the more passenger or luggage in the car, the more pressure that is required.

 

You can only have 1 or the other

less pressure = more grip

or

More pressure =less grip

One of the reasons that F1 tires average about 14psi (and that an F1 car is much lighter, though Lewis Hamilton's ego weighs it down again LOL)

That must be one powerful Ecosport you have there!

Recommended tyre pressures usually work well, you would normally only add more pressure for extra load or sustained high speed driving, again in line with the manufacturers recommendations for your car.
