key lost down a drain

I just want to know if @mrmetallica has got his key back yet, I couldn't care less about people's mask choices. We can all find 'evidence' to support our beliefs, Live and let live 🙂

What you need is to get hold of a machine like they had in the 1960s movie, 'Fantastic Voyage'. Once you have shrunk to micro biotic levels, get someone to wrap a bit if thread round you, then jump in

  • 2 pages of key lost in drain posts 😂

  • I'm not sure a keyfob would float?  And no, I'm not sticking mine in a bucket to find out!

See previous remark Sir.......

.... This is EXACTLY how social media becomes a global network for the spread of mis-information and bull-*****.....

..... Get yourself a life, sunny-boy.....

I REALLY REALLY WON'T be taking any further response in hand.... 🤯

You just had to have the last word! LOL Oh, darn it... and me, 'sunny-boy' what a kind compliment at my age, thank you...

You are MOST welcome Sir.........

... and I HAD TO RESPOND now, or else YOU would have had the last word instead......!!

Unfortunately, this now leaves us in the state of a badly functioning marriage doesn't it... where both parties will keep on prodding the other needlessly..... etc etc etc

And I can't be assed, in all honesty........and I need to walk the dog too......

.... but I still respect your right to your statement......

Nighty night night......

I'll do the decent thing and have the last word, then neither of you need to continue your reenactment of a dysfunctional marriage, you're welcome 😜

💋💋💋....

Jonro2009...... You have saved us BOTH........

💋💋💋💋.......

... Oh bugger........ 😳..... I forgot....

Damn..... DAMN....... DAMN DAMN DAMN.....

Try using a child's fishing net with an extendable handle.

Can you still see the fob or just fishing around hoping to find it?

cant see the fob no there is too much muck in the bottom so will try m pond vac on it.

i did fish out a small padlock with magnet lol

I would put a gently running hose down it in the hope that it'll dilute the top section of mud, and the missing fob would float to the surface. It's all very exciting, 3 pages now of suggestions over a fob dropped down a drain 🤣 I'd like to be the first to put in an offer for the movie rights (the title would be. 'Free Fobby')... LOL

Did they not bring out something similar to what you suggest for those that mess about in boats, either seen on tomorrows world or some science program. My head is full of useless garbage like that lol

Yes, it was on Tomorrows World decades ago LOL When the fob got wet, as well as being able to float, it emitted a GPS signal to locate the fob (should it be accompanied by it's incapacitated owner on the water!)

There was a scene in the Film "dead calm" where the husband threw the keys into the sea and they floated. The dog jumped in the sea and retrieved them but returned them to wrong person.

It's common for us boaters to attach a float to their keys, either a cork ball or a small air-filled float. I've managed to avoid dropping mine in the water so far (famous last words ). I did once drop a tea plate while brushing crumbs off it. Luckily it was quite shallow and the water was clear so I managed to retrieve it by using the boat hook to push it close enough to the bank to reach it.

had another go today with no success :{

there is so much dirt in the bottom its hard to move the net around and the pond vac i used was getting blocked up with the muck. ive ordered a bigger magnet so hopefully that will do it
