Boot struts

My boot seems heavy when lifting up and doesn't always stay up. Can you fix the boot struts or do you have to just replace them

just replace cheap enough via eBay etc, 2 man job or a broom handle to stop the tail landing on your head once you disconect

I could have done with that advice before I replaced mine! On removing the RHS strut, boot fell down on my head, jamming the old strut in the process, breaking the RHS light cluster. When people say, 'a fool can do it', they haven't actually met me  :biggrin:

I learnt the hard way aswell when i replaced the complete boot lid after a skip backed into me.

just an aside its not heavier due to frozen water on the inside.
