Mine started doing that, then engine started stopping as well. Turned out to be bad fuel filter leading to insufficient rail pressure. 1000 + miles since changing the filter with no problems. 

 

Garage are saying it’s a fuel  pressure issue so sounds like it is fuel filter so being replaced. Would bad fuel pressure make the p0134 error come up though which is o2 sensor? As they say they aren’t getting that error but it was showing for me on forscan the day before I took to garage lol so should show for them also when they scan codes

      If you use FORScan to check for DTC's then if the problem is the instrument cluster you will have lots of codes beginning 'Uxxxxxx' and faults list as 'Lost communication with ............'

      Yes, classic instrument cluster cracked solder joints due to the use of lead-free solder. There are a number of companies that can repair and test for around £90 if you aren't confident about resolder

    Actually I cleared the codes on Sunday so that’s why it’s not showing the code, fuel filter is something extra. I need to get them to check the o2 sensor too

    Garage might be using a generic scanner which won't usually pick up Ford specific codes.

    I didn’t realise the fuel filters had to be changed so often on the diesels. It’s quite a fiddly job to do yourself as well.
