Watching anything good on TV?

The Met say they have been investigating since 2020 (which I highly doubt, I believe the TV show has forced them into a statement)

I was hoping someone would comment on this, what an amazing drama. I've been aware of this since it started 2 decades ago. All stems from Tony Blair initiating a £1 Billion computer 'upgrade' for the

The government has had 20 years to act on this issue, today's announcement was pretty disgusting. Far too little, far far too late... Bless ITV for bringing it to the world's attention!

I know I'm late to the party, but just caught up with this show. Must confess that I wanted to slap the owner of this 306! All niggly faults, but why would someone ignore them? Faulty door mirror, lea

Quite so. I took a particular interest in this story over the years as my older cousin and her late hubby ran a Sub-Post Office for many years - luckily they retired just prior to Horizon. Just like the people in the drama, they went out of their way to help customers and were very highly regarded, so I'm really glad they didn't get caught up in this cr*p!

Just finished watching the last episode now. Brilliant acting all round and brought a tear to my eye. Really made you wonder how you would feel in that situation, when you knew you had done nothing wrong. You remember how you felt unfairly treated at school when some kid did something and didn't fess up so you all got detention? Then try and imagine something several million times worse!

Eric, this whole disaster has left me feeling so angry, I'm furious.  if the Post office had of put their hands up at the start and worked on fixing the issue with Horizon, the post master would have been spared this nightmare.  But no the Post office doubled down every single time, lying to these poor people.  Some of these people took their own lives for Christ sake, the Post Office are in my eyes responsible for those deaths.

Having watched the whole drama series, and the supporting documentary, I'm still baffled as to why so many people lied over such a long period of time.

As already said, they could have knuckled down, fixed or scrapped the system, probably sacked the odd person responsible as I'm sure would have happened in most organisations. But they chose to lie on a massive scale, conceal evidence, intimidate innocent people and so on, in a way that would possibly embarrass even the Mafia.

What were they hoping to gain? What else were they afraid of coming to light? I feel we're still a long way from the full truth.

The truth will hopefully come out at some point, did they lie to save face? did they lie to coverup the fact that the system the tax payer paid millions for wasn't fit for purpose? did they lie that much that they had to keep the lie up at all costs.

what i gathered from the show was that at night Horizon had been going into the Post \masters systems and tried to fix problems without them knowing, it seemed to me they at least attempted to put some things right, but the Post Office are down right criminals

I see Sunak's getting in on the act now. You can tell it's an election year can't you.

Ironic that on this very forum, I disparaged the use of petitions as I think they achieve nothing, but yes, I signed this one, and if she has any dignity, she'll voluntarily hand back the honour rather than have it stripped from her...

If you feel the government is a bit zealous in announcing that they are banning the sale of petrol & diesel cars in the UK in just 10 years, 2030, there is an existing petition you can sign.

Generally I agree, but sometimes I do use them as the only way of getting your view over, since "they" rarely ask.

Now, if only I can find one about Justin Welby's knighthood.........!😀

Now on it's 113th page LOL (The original petition highlighted was from 2020)

Dignity and integrity are in vanishingly short supply in the upper echelons of this country nowadays.

We could always start another one!

Irony being, that if another one was started now, it would gain much more traction as the public's awareness of the futility of EVs is much more widespread. The cost of vehicles, the mandated imposed taxation to enforce sales, the lack of infrastructure, the expense of insurance, the difficulty of putting out a 'simple' fire, the way that embracing other forms of innovation in propulsion has been suppressed, etc etc...

Can we start a topic to ban, not just EVs, but also airfryer owners?

They tend to be cut from the same cloth

Is it a coincidence they put it out in an election year? I suspect not. Good for them. This is what journalism and the arts is for.

I'm pretty sure ITV could care less if it's an election year or not.  What on earth would they have gained from such timing? 😀

It was your signature that did it !!! 🤣

Reported in the last hour: Paula Vennels is handing back her CBE. King Charles will have to officially annul the award.

Result!! I think it was my signature that did it though .

Only if Margaret Thatcher had been the PM LOL The BBC hated her! The BBC is currently far too left wing and totally woke to do any serious investigation now, never mind commissioning a drama about a meaty subject...
