Watching anything good on TV?

The good old ecoboost made it on to the 0ne Show Watchdog segment again last night.

Bit confusing - first case mentioned was a 4 year old Focus which would be a Mk 4. Of course, the case might have been dragging on for some time, but the film also showed a Mk 4, which as we know doesn't have a wet belt.

Second case was a 7 year old Mk 3 and Ford had offered 62.5% goodwill off a £5,500 bill.

It's available on BBC i-player.

I was hoping someone would comment on this, what an amazing drama. I've been aware of this since it started 2 decades ago. All stems from Tony Blair initiating a £1 Billion computer 'upgrade' for the

The government has had 20 years to act on this issue, today's announcement was pretty disgusting. Far too little, far far too late... Bless ITV for bringing it to the world's attention!

I know I'm late to the party, but just caught up with this show. Must confess that I wanted to slap the owner of this 306! All niggly faults, but why would someone ignore them? Faulty door mirror, lea

Been watching and enjoying The Hairy Bikers ooop norf and great to see Dave Meyers back on his beloved bike. Until my daughter rang me this morning with the sad news of his demise.

They made cooking a joy and fun, will sadly be missed as a teatime prog of them cooking fancy stuff while sat munching a chip butty.

I too was a huge fan, watching every show they made and even getting the odd book as a Christmas present. My own nephew was up on stage with them when they did a road show here a while back, no doubt when asking for an audience volunteer they wanted a young attractive lady, not a 12 year old boy! LOL He'll be very sadly missed from a legion of fans, and 66, that's no age at all...

I just downloaded that (Haven't watch One Show since Adrian Childs!). I never knew that the USA had a recall (no charge) for the wet belt issue. It's a disgrace that the UK has been fobbed off in a similar tone to the post office scandal telling customers there isn't a generic fault, and hardly anyone else has complained. USA has much more rigorous controls on what car makers sell to the public, it's about time we caught up...

Son's just bought a BMW something or other and it's losing coolant but not leaking. Apparently there's a recall in the States to fix the EGR cooler? 🤷 but as in the Ford scenario above there isn't a recall in this country!

Fantastic watch!  Very immersive and managed to hold my attention for the whole 2 hours.  And no he didn't coerce me into that...or did he...🤔

Daughter was on about that today. I watched a cracking film last night if you dont mind subtitles - Isoroku Yamamoto his life story. Not full of blood and guts, done with compassion and thoughtfulness, even tho i knew the outcome before watching.

And tonights movie was Greyhound, an Apple film starring Tom Hanks about WW2 convoy's, highly recomended. No subtitles haha

Guy Martin's Spitfire. Originally aired 10 years ago, now doing the rounds as a 2 hour 40 minute documentary. Anyone with an empathy for things mechanical would enjoy this.

One highlight for me was the wing. Held onto the frame using 7 custom made tapered bolts, made to an incredible high tolerance. He held one in his hand for 15 minutes, and the minor transference of heat caused it to expand a couple of thou. It then didn't fit. Once left to 'cool', it slid in perfectly!

I like Guy, but I have to have subtitles on when watching him! 😀

Guy Martin has done a lot of good shows including the speed ones and also the Vulcan flight one.
He doesn't feign interest in the engineering and does like to get hands on and learn new things.

Oh, and he's a good old Lincs lad and he grew up and still lives in the area near Humberside airport (Kirmington).
I also grew up not far from there near Brigg.

Second episode watched. Brilliant!

Taking a short hiatus from movies, currently binge watching Chuck https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0934814/ for some light relief. I did find an indian movie that looked amazing sadly but no subtitles.

Just finished binge watching a series called, 'KIN'. (2 x series, 8 episodes each).

An addictive gritty drama on a Dublin based drugs mafia style family. Didn't intend to 'binge' but like a well written book, you just want to turn the page and see what happens next! Strong language, great acting, good story...

kin was very good had to binge watch, had already watched the first season but had to watch again to recap the whole story.

There's a new series on BBC2 about the latest dig at Pompeii.  Two episodes down but I'm sure you can get them on iPlayer.

Genuinely amazing to see the similarities with today's world from 2000 years ago.  Probably the only genuine snapshot of history in the world.

I watched part 2 (recorded) yesterday and having had time to think about it I reckon there are flaws in Chris Jackson's arguments about not being able to get away via the Bay of Naples. He claimed there would be pumice floating on the sea but if high winds were created blowing toward the volcano that would have taken most if not all of it away from the bay. Even if some settled on the sea I don't think it would have seriously hampered the passage of a boat. He then claimed these winds would have prevented them from sailing away but I think if they left on an ebbing tide and rowed the boats they would have succeeded. He also seems ignorant of the fact that it's possible to sail into the wind by tacking. I'd have thought that technique would have been known about at that time.

Just got round to watching this weeks Panorama on 'Smart Motorways'. Good god, I thought Tony Blair had made enough mistakes, but how can a government be so utterly dumb to introduce such a deathtrap. Almost 80 killed because some Whitehall eejit thought it a great idea to abandon the hard shoulder.

Next, they'll be trying to get us all to drive around in cars powered by a battery! Oh, wait a minute...

....that catches fire and can't be put out with water.

Major fire on Blackburn bus terminus, one of the afore mentioned buses decided to self combust. Made the local rag and news.

Another smokey diesel gone up in smoke. 🤣

Been watching red eye. That killed a few hours when nothing else was on

I've got into the latest series of Race Across The World as with previous ones.  Series is half way through now but I know most of you youngsters just stream programs anyway.
