I am getting this exact same issue. Any news on a fix?

Still no further update I'm afraid, I can't believe it's taking Ford so long, it's not like they have not been made aware of it.

Oh well we will all keep on waiting.

  • Now they're only 18 months out of date 😉

Unfortunately @Mark-UK with a MY20 vehicle, the Cyanlabs reformat tool doesnt work. So its a sit and wait until 'they' fix the issue.

  • I've also tried the update and got this.😞

From the rumours on other forums, the official F12 map update should be hitting the Ford servers this month.

Lets hope that we then get offered that, instead of the current bodged-up file.

Fingers crossed it won't be much longer.

How could we make sure Ford is working on it?

Harass them on Twitter and call the CRC?

Any news?

From the Cyanlabs website

"v2.12.0.0 - Now uses the Ford released RW Data Cleaner utility!

This should fix issues where people are unable to update due to insufficient space. Ford clearly now acknowledge the issue hence why they provided this fix."

Hopefully Ford will publicly release the utility, or incorporate it in a Sync update.

It's part of update 3.4.23188 (Only released for the F150 so far that I know of)

The data cleaner is only needed for versions 22251 and 23088 as they were bugged. Versions 22200 and earlier didn't suffer the log file issue.

I have had a look on the Ford website & the only update showing for my 2020 Fiesta Vignale is still the 49KB file Update: 8580509305.

So long winded, how can such a error still not be corrected!

F12 hasn't been released yet, so hopefully this new Sync update is Step 1, then map will be Step 2.

These things are released slowly to try and avoid issues, so that a smaller number of cars affected if there is a problem.

You don't have a problem with your car at the moment, it's only the update itself that doesn't work. It's better than them rushing things and giving you an update that causes a problem you have to put up with every day.

It's why I don't jump to install the leaked software updates as soon as they become available. The 2 before the most recent one both had a significant bug.

I'm certainly in no rush to get the latest updates, I did go down the cyanlabs route to get Sync 3.4.23088 & F12 maps which sorted all my issues out ( well ok there are zero apps that show up) and for the vast majority of my driving there little to no difference between the F10 and F12 maps.

I know there is an update with new voice files ( I bet she still can't pronounce Ring Road ) but while my system is working I'll just stick with what I have.

I am still at 3.4.22200 and there is no update available.

Well they only have one young lad working on it part time. After Christmas he's looking to start working on the update for your car full time 🤣

You seem to be in an urgent state of needing a map update. Are you planning an around the world tour ?

So no updates yet?

Well actually the last time I was in contact with Ford UK they told me THE person with sync knowledge had left the company.

I'm not joking this maybe two years ago, they literally didn't have any experts that could help me out

Well it seems to get worse. Just got a notification on the Ford website stating there is now a Sync 3 update. Hey click on the link and there is no option to download, but you do get the offer to book your car into Fords!!! I have attached the screen shot.

The map update is now showing as up to date. What is going on, so now we have to book our car into Ford for the latest Sync 3 update?

When you press click here to get the latest update the only options are book a service or contact us?

The website also shows my vehicle as a 2015 model instead of a 2020. Anybody else having the same issue?

Well, it shows me that there is a sync update - Version 3.4.23188

And that I can select USB and download file - NU5T-14G381-AD.zip

https://ivsu.binaries.ford.com/owner-package/8219823421/NU5T-14G381-AD.zip

Can confirm that once 3.4.23188 is installed and verified it seems to be offering a full 23GB map package (not just voice files).

I assume this is F12, but my internet is a bit slow, I'll let you know what's in it, in a couple of hours if someone else doesn't post first.

Still have no option to download, it#s showing an update is available but everytime I click on it I only get the option to book a service with Ford or contact us tabs, very strange.

Am I OK to click this link & download for my 2020 Fiesta.

I am still not showing a download option on the Ford website.

I'ts telling me an update for Sync 3 is available but no option to download to a USB.

But looking at your screenshot, why is it saying your vehicle is a 2015 Fiesta?

This is what's baffling me, mine is a 2020 model, Have logged back into my Ford & still showing as Sync 3 update available but still no option to download to a USB?

Yes it's the same update offered to everyone on 3.4 and it has protections to stop it being installed on the wrong system as long as you don't change anything.

Also can confirm the 22.8GB update is the full F12 maps and voice files.
