Hi guys, I am stuck between a rock and a hard place with a Fiesta I got as a gift from my brother. Please help me, I want to fix my first ever car and drive it. Here is the list of problems I have:

Functionality:
1. Power steering not active

2. battery drain (I discovered a 0.35A short in the horn circuit and 1.5A short in the "Passenger compartment circuit" ia haven't checked the passenger compartment fuse box for yet)

3. Horn not working

Dashboard: a well lit Christmas Tree
1. Engine management light

2. ABS light

3. Power steering

4. Traction control light

5. Airbag

6. Door open light (even when all doors are shut)

I have compiled all the fault codes I got and i have a feeling that these fault codes are somehow related. What should I look at first?

Any help is well appreciated

Repair in this order

  1. Get new battery. Charge it for at least 12 hours before fitting.
  2. Use FORScan and clear all DTC's
  3. Get the instrument cluster repaired/refurbished   @rd457
  4. Use FORScan and see what DTC's are still active
  5. Report back and we will try and help you the best we can.

A 2010 will probably have this type which doesn't seem to suffer from the common cracked solder joint problem:
