As to the council's wanting no digital or card id..

I think this is probably true because it's when they look at it properly it's a reverse role. There ok when giving orders to people n keeping track of what others do but it's not so good when it comes to the shoe being on the other foot ?

As to to the id card l don't see how it would be any diffrent to having the app because all your info will still be on the data base as mentioned Pcaouolte.

As it was reported about a week ago the system is so safe it was hacked by some who tested it basically for a bit of fun only to find he hardly even tried and got into it ( l bet the diffrent country's that have helped create it was rubbing there hands together just waiting to empty bank accounts in the masses ).🤦‍♂️

Ahh well it'll help stazi turn our country into a state as bad as Africa kwicker given all the diffrent places he's been sending the money and all the reparations that are going g to be paid out. They won't need to worry about an election in 2029 because there won't be anything left for the people never mind the government.

The big worry here for many people is the potential "hackability" of the system, the contents of which would be a rich prize for those of criminal intent. Given the major data hacks of banks, ret

Ah, but you just changed the words. What the BBC did was more subtle (and I suggest more dangerous) by editing the actual words but not as they were originally spoken.

A bit like Eric Morecambe then, playing all the right notes but not necessarily in the correct order! 🤣

Government to consult on digital IDs for 13-year-olds

If they take this much further you'll need digital ID while still in the womb😀:

I thought I was joking when I posted this, but maybe not:

Meanwhile, I see the petition has reached 2,975,049 signatures. Still a week to run - anyone got 24,951 mates who might sign to make a round 3 million?😀

I like how they state that once it done it's done there's no going back.. why wouldn't there. I'm not a tech person but even l know that you only need to track where all the info went or the channels it goes through then a virus to destroy all the collected data can be done. Anonymous has shown many times how it's got into files that wasn't meant for the public eye.. the only stuff we never see is from the smart people who keep it old school non Internet accessible storage. Proof has been shown via the Epstein files non of that was accessible via the Internet hence why non of it ever got out unless it was printed.

Government drops plans for mandatory digital ID to work in UK

Sorry refuse to believe anything the BBC say. I don't even click on the links to them for fear of being turned in to a 'woke' crack pot. 🤣

Its all weaselly words, anyway - they still aim to make some form of digital ID compulsory to work legally, it appears.

It seems to me the surest way to prevent people working illegally is to stop them being in the country illegally in the first place - but I'm only a simple chap, what do I know?😀

👍👍 Double thumbs up !!

If Kier 'two tier' Starmer would like a chance of a landslide win at the next election all he needs to do is start tomorrow and deport every single illegal immigrant and have them all gone by the end of this year.

I've only stumbled upon this long thread! I would never have worried in the first place. Government squandered £37 BILLION on a relatively simple  'track & trace' app during Covid which never worked. They have no capacity at all to manage large IT type projects, neither understanding them, or being able to project managing them to a successful conclusion. There was no way they could introduce 'digital ID' as they wouldn't know how.

Even St Blair tried to introduce an integrated NHS IT system which was that bad, it wasn't even commissioned. That was another £14 BILLION of our money flushed down the toilet...

To err is human, to really f*ck up, you need government...

Government has proven itself to be so thoroughly incompetent and corrupt that it not only cannot properly manage any substantial programs but it cannot even cover their tracks when they grift those programs! The sheer size of the corruption is impossible to cover up. A prime example is being uncovered in Minnesota, USA right now. The grift is in the open for anyone to see. The situation in Minnesota is one of the state government agencies and officials using federal taxpayer dollars to fund their schemes to buy the votes of certain groups in exchange for their votes to continue the theft. This is literally top down corruption and the governor of Minnesota is going to use every single tool available to continue the arrangement. He is shameless. Hopefully the state will either expel the criminals or they will collapse into some kind of contained chaos.
