Dal.
Installed my USB music box today - all worked well except the steering column buttons did bugger all and wouldn't change tracks :( Sending it back for a replacement as the steering column controls work for everything else bar that. TDCiST
how odd... hopefully a new box is all you need!
Sticky45
Thread revival time. Having been disappointed by the hu in the 57 plate mondeo I have recently purchased I am considering the options of second hand better equipped ford stereo. New hu altogether or one of these units. Like others on here I don't really want to change the look of the dash and I worry that a second hand hu could come with its own issues so this unit is most favourable. Is it true though that it will not work with ipods etc. Just wanted to know so I can get a memory stick lined up.
TDCiST
It doesn't work with my iPhone, but the headphone jack still works so I can use this aswell, you just have to unplug the USB stick to use the jack..
Sticky45
Cool thanks for that. To be honest the reason I'm looking at one of these is purely so I can use the steering wheel controls as having to look at the ipod if I want to skip s song is pretty awkward. TDCiST
I thought the same, But I've got so used to using the USB now that it's not really an issue...
Sticky45
Hmmmm. Found these on eBay and has me wondering if this will fit my stereo pictured below. At almost half the price this could be a real find. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Ford-Focus-C-Max-Mondeo-Fiesta-iPod-adapter-interface-car-iPhone-CTAFOIPOD005-2-/321067743374?pt=UK_In_Car_Technology&hash=item4ac120f88e http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Ford-Fiesta-Escort-Mondeo-iPod-adapter-interface-in-car-iPhone-CTAFOIPOD003-2-5v-/221185190002?pt=UK_In_Car_Technology&hash=item337faa2872
Sticky45
Ok so after much searching for a picture of the back of my stereo with no success, could someone possibly confirm whether my style of the 6000cd has the cd multi changer output needed by one of the units posted previously. JC600
Ordered one these http://www.fordpartsuk.com/shop/ford_usb_music_box_for_all_ford_audio_and_navigation_systems_with_aux_button__f_1746768_c_420.htm Are there any firmware updates you can do? And how do you do them? And do they add any extra features? Thanks. :)
Stoney871
Very good price for that unit. No updates available for that unit. I just plug an USB stick full of mp3's in and that's about all it does. Sent from my S5
JC600
Was hoping it charges, and plays music files off my phone. :)
Stoney871
Mine doesn't, it just acts as an mp3 changer. Sent from my S5
JC600
Doh.....might sell it then, if it doesn't. :)
Stoney871
It does mp3's very well though. Stereo stalk interface works well with it. Sent from my S5
JC600
I'll see if it works, when it arrives and go from there. Says it charges and plays music off mobile phones.
WAZ91
How have people been getting on with this? Any updates out for it? at £30 not too bad to get one now even if there are no updates.
patja
Is there any way to connect my phone (music player) to the usb socket via bluetooth? Maybe by using one of these?
firefighter
Is the usb kit you are talking about going to work at this ford cd-mp3 unit

Stoney871
As long as it has a CD/AUX button then yes. Each press of the button switches from CD to AUX and back again.
