Guest
I have a Panther black New Fiesta Titanium with full dress kit. My car gets dirty very easily so I asked my Ford dealer about gettin mudflaps fitted this was their response: "with the side skirts fitted to your car you would not be able to fit the Ford genuine flaps and that means then only a plain flap would be fitted. This plain flap would have a space from the flap to the skirt as they would not fit round the skirt and would not look very nice." What do you guys think? My mates think the dealer is just being lazy. I could post images of my wheels if you guys want a closer look before making a judgement? I have a mate who is a mechanic and he thinks it would be very simple to fit mud flaps to my car and he cant see what would be so ugly looking about it. smudger
Think what they are trying to say is that the genuine Fiesat moulded mud flaps will not fit over the side skirts. So you would have to have a set of universal mud flaps which are not contoured to the shape of the car and hence would not look as nice as there may be "gaps" between the plastic skirt and the mud flap. Guest
Would it really look that ugly? My Titanium has the zetec S bodykit so does that mean you cant get genuine ford mudflaps on a zetec S?
sussex
I dont know if you could fit them but all i'd say is personally, my dealer has been very poor on everything with my new fiesta, as soon as I signed they lost interest in everything. I looked into getting the genuine mudflaps and was also told they don't fit by my dealer. I have no reason not to believe them as I know the salesman and the owner of the business very well. I agree with the dealer, the car wont look nice no matter how well its done. On a different point I am personally against any kind of mudflaps. Even the best fitting ones will allow mud and water collect between the mudflap and the wing and sill, causing corrosion. So best to live without them and clean the car when it gets dirty and allow the parts to dry. regards

poohbear
I think they just dont want to fit them because they cant charge you the ford price then!! Why not put some on then if you dont like them stick them on eBay or something?
jimbob1989
In the brochure for the new fiesta it says that the mudflaps are available on all series except for the Zetec S - Not available with full exterior styling kit. So it's obviously the side skirts that is the problem and the ford mudflaps won't fit.

Why not put some on then if you dont like them stick them on ebay or something? Or they won't fit them because they won't fit? Why is this so hard to understand? Here's a thought, why don't you buy some mudflaps for a Peugeot 206 and put them on?
Freedive
I'd be tempted not to fit them partly looks and the partly the crud that accumulates and sits there rotting. I'd just give the car a damn good wax (Auto Glym) so that it's easier to clean.

MichellefromEssex
This is something OH is going to be asking Mountune on weds - he would like their own yellow/black ones if they do something like that of course - personally I hate mudflaps. Jonny87
If i get them put on they shouldnt look too bad what with the car being black, but surely they must be a good thing coz they stop the tyres hurling all sorts of grit and gravel up the sides of the car and underneath. Just wanted to see some pics out of curiosity Also i will get Jewelultra Diamondbrite treatment professionally applied soon after getting the car
beatty36
+1 they hardly ever return my calls!!!As for the mud flaps have you tried looking online for them? I have the same problem aswell, i called down to price a bit of spraying, he took my number, address and everything and they never got back to me. It would have been 700 odd pounds for them but i guess thats not enough.
rocky1722
A post I put up a couple of weeks back. E-mailed TeamTorquesteer today regarding if they had any plans to make mudflaps for the new style Mk7 Fiesta. Got a reply from Martin as follows This is something we are looking into at present. If you know of someone in the Bolton area, who would like a free set, we could arrange for them to visit the suppliers to take measurements etc. Thanks, Martin. Anyone willing to take up the offer as I'm up in the north of Scotland. Contact martin@teamtorquesteer.co.uk They would be of a type and style similar to these as I was one of the 1st to get these on my Mondeo. Stephen. Skully
When the SkullyClan were on holiday we hired a Fez...a Panther one...and it did get extremely putrid. We ordered front and rear mudflaps on our Ocean Blue to try and stop some of the muck...especially the back. I was wondering what they'd look like, but my fears were allayed. Granted...we haven't got the posh side skirts...but I don't think they look too bad at all...do you?? You prolly wouldn't even notice them on a panther...unless you were really looking. :)
