Bluefin Remaps

i think the exhaust looks good as it is if they had put it in the middle with the standard valance it would have looked naff, anyway vauxhall do that

The sport vauxhalls (VXR's) just look naff anyway with the overdone body kit and general chav styling that vauxhall seem to like putting on their cars. I wonder if they body kits are designed by spotty 18 year old Essex lads?

The Fiesta's body kit is far more subtle and intergrated and gives it a far more adult look and certainly in this instance, less is most definatly more

Did you have to wear trackies, trainers and a baseball cap to take a drive in one of those then?

And was that the Astra or is the Corsa as bad?

drove both, and then drove a focus st.... and it was like night and day!

i told the salesman at vauxhall i was considering a focus st and his reply was " we may as well stop the test drive here as the focus st is much nicer to drive and alot more relaible"

nearly fell of my chair!! not quite what i expeted...

as for what i wore it was more like a hoody and shades so i couldnt be recognised!!!

Well all credit to the salesman for being honest about his product, although not sure his manager would be so pleased!

Must admit that even if the gorgeous new fiesta was not on the market I still would not be entertaining a Vauxhall as I just think they produce some of the dullest cars going and there is no way I would feel at all special driving a corsa as I know I am going to do driving my Fiesta

Looking forward to what mountune have in store for 'stage 2' of the ti-vct engine, every review I've read of the mountune says the fiesta chassis is still screaming out for more power.

I also think a slightly quieter exhaust should be available, for example milltek offer a resonated (quiet) and non resonated (loud) option for alot of their performance systems. I've never heard a mountune exhaust, but a few of the reviews point out how loud they are, it might attract a few more customers mountune's way if they offered a slightly quiter system.

Oh really - interested in that . . . .

do you think they will bring these out for the 1.4 and 1.6 tdci engines? , never heard of bluefin before sounds good but is it a bit risky ?

They had remaps for mk6 fiesta 1.4 tdci and 1.6 tdci. there probably one of the biggest ecu performance upgrade companys around... and tbh if u aint happy u can reverse it at any point along with 14 day money back garuntee ;)

Why does Essex always have to be connected to the word "Chav" gets on my flipping nerves - I dare say there are spotty 18 yr old baseball cap wearing lads all over the UK

Fraser - I have a clip of me driving so you can hear the exhaust if you want me to pm you.

Yeah that would be great Michelle :)

Sorry - too much Jeremy Kyle I guess! LOL

My opinions are mountune completely changes the car, when i first got my car it felt flat and boring to drive and had no real get up and go to it, the problem isnt that its slow its just that i had 1.6 tdci zetec s and it delivered its power in a different way making it seem quicker,i missed the mid range pulling power of the diesel and the get up and go it had when the turbo kicked in, i was planning to keep this car standard as i didnt think i was going to have it that long... but then i went out in Michelles car and the kit made the car so much more fun to be in,i was also toying with the idea of bluefin and at the time i enquired and they said they are making a map and they will contact me when its done, they already do a remap for the 1.6ti-vct in the focus and that gains 12 bhp, that will be roughly the same i reckon as the fiests will gain as i think they are the same engine. If you want to make your car a little faster and pull better get the bluefin... but if you wanted to completely transform your car and making it a much more enjoyable drive then go the mountune way. This is only my opinion though.

out of intrest how much does the insurance premium rise with the 'kits' fitted.

if your with greenlight insurance and have the mountune upgrade it cost nothing extra

if your with greenlight insurance and have the mountune upgrade it cost nothing extra

I guess that could be one of the reasons to go with Mountune - and adding in the fact that the Ford warranty is not affected . . . .

i am still in favour of the mountune upgrade and i am looking forward to having it fitted, but i think i will wait,if i can lol till the bluefin map comes out and see what it really gives you and this minor problem is sorted with mountune package before i take the plunge

My insurance went up not alot but it still did, I am of a certain age have full 23yrs no claims and it went up by just over £50 for the rest of the year (apr till aug renewal). I called Greenlight and they quoted me more than with Esure, I think someone on here was quoted 3k for insurance - they were young and only been driving a short time though.

insurance is a joke... i own a mk2 Golf GTi 8v and its 112bhp... insurance group 13 or some stupid thing... i can insure a mini cooper S 182bhp for £400 less than my mk2 golf despite having a fully fitted immobiliser!!!

they should really look at the way insurance groups change as the car ages :(

greenlight came good with me they were a sponser on focusstoc.com,with all my mods i got quoted between £950-£1400 with other insurance companys, they did it for £560 with ncp, dont know what my premuim is for my zetec s is yet though as ive still got 3 months left before its up

Well I was under the impression that insurance groups are as much about deterring younger drivers away from higher performance cars as they are about how much it is going to cost the company to repair the vehicle if it is damaged - hence a Smart being cheap to insure due to its removable plastic panels and your Mk2 golf being expensive as replacement panels are not going to be cheap or easy to source

it seems they will have a remap for the 1.4tdci 05 onwards soon then ?
