Well not got my car yet so not a problem - and I am guessing I will be happy for the first few months so as long as there is something ready about the time Santa is about dishing out the goods . . . .

I got an email back from bluefin yesterday to say their remap/chip will be ready 'fairly soon'.

i emailed regarding the 1.6 mk7 by the way.

YAY - good news - no indication on what sort of power increase we can expect? I am guessing 10% if we are lucky!

kind of off topic here... I'm unfortunately only sporting a 1.25 zetec and jsut want to know if its worth chipping it? and if so, any descent places to ge tthe chip? any help would be appreciated!

Well go to their website and see what power increase you can expect and then it is down to you - assuming you can afford it!

Don't forget that you need to let your insurance company know if you do decide or your insurance could be invalidated if you try and claim

if you have a blufin remap , do you change your car back to its orignal state when taking your car for its routine service, i want to get this done if they release a 1.4tdci mk7 remap but i would be a bit put off if i had to keep changing it back for services?

cheers

its no trouble to put your remap back to normal, its takes less than five minutes, you just plug it into your socket on the car follow the on screen prompts and select restore original settings,it only takes about 40mins the first time you plug it in because it needs to make sure it copies your original settings properly

I had one on my MINI One and it was really easy - I am gussing even easier now it is not just a black box with 3 lamps on it - Used to put my BHP up from 90 to about 130 so made a MASSIVE difference, and as the convertible weighed in at about 100kgs heavier than the tin top, it needed it!

It's true Dan - if you check out the last MINI where the One and the Cooper had the same 1.6 engine, albeit the One having a de-tuned version. If you brought the re-map it would give ou an additional 10bhp for the Cooper but the FULL 40bhp for the One to bring them both up to the 130bhp region.

If you buy a new MINI now, the One and the Cooper have different engines with the one only having a 1.4 as opposed to the Cooper's 1.6.

just like the corsa sri and vxr you can remap the sri by nearly 80bhp where as the vxr 40 bhp because the sri has the same engine just de tuned

Really - I thought that the VXR had a turbo whereas none of the other petrol corsa's did?
