See this at the station everyday, must be illegal to have that much tyre showing?!

It's not been fixed for weeks, so assume it was their fault as if it was a non fault accident it would be repaired by now!

And no, the door does not shut properly!

Why the :censored: would you put cable ties on ALLOYS!?  Mind you, it's a Vauxhall owner so God knows what goes on in their heads.

you dumb asses , there trims .lol

ford do them also, the steel wheels are pressed the same design as the trims, the trims fit over and look like alloys. ha ha .

I always wonder why people cable tie trims on...who wants to steal cheap, horrible plastic trims!?

its normally to stop them falling off if the inner clips bend or break, but some numptys do cable tie them on incase of theft, lol

What is the point of that?  Either fit regular steelies or go the whole way and fit damn alloys.  Good lord.

fooled you pair though. focus mk 2.5 had them occasionaly..

Exactly.  If you want your car to look nice then the only option is alloys.  Steel wheels are functional and we have had them on almost all our cars (bar the late Rover 216 and current Peugeot 405), but they aren't pretty and look even worse with cheap plastic trims.

May have fooled me, but if anything it has made me realise how penny-pinching car manufacturers are these days.  I'm surprised Ford did something so cheap and tacky.  There was a time when you got steel wheels with trims, or nice alloys.  Now you get stupid alloy-shaped steel wheels with plastic trims or generic alloys.

Lol.  I'll never forget a test drive I was taken on at work experience, car was owned by an old guy that didn't take it over 1500rpm and everything was choked up.  The tech thought it'd be funny to scare me on a hard drive...but massively over-estimated how little it takes to scare me...     Anyway, we got back to the forecourt with me holding the handle with white knuckles and he slammed on the brakes...and two trims shot off ahead of us rolling across the car park!

As for why trims, they almost always LOOK like alloys to fool 'normal' people.  My Nan has no idea of the difference between alloy wheels and wheel trims...  As she offered to buy a new trim when I scuffed an alloy...  Most people would rather not have an ugly steel wheel on their pov spec car when they're too tight to buy a decent spec one new but stick a bit of silver plastic over it and they think they've got something that looks as good as an alloy...  Obviously cable ties ruin that illusion though lol.

Neither does my mother!  I have tried to explain the difference (including physically showing her the difference between the steel wheels on the old Primera and alloys on my 405) but she still doesn't get it.  I've given up.

Haha, well there you go then!  Remember cheap/low spec cars are aimed towards people like her and my Nan.  'Car people' tend to opt for something with a better spec...I can't imagine buying a brand new car without alloys myself!

Tom, I had a simular experience on work experience when I was 15, tell how long ago it was , as car was colt lancer turbo, mechanic thought it would be funny to take me out and scare me going like a rally car sideways down back lanes near garage.

Wasnt wheel trims but my vomit flying past his face and hitting steering wheel. Lol

Me neither, but then again I'd never buy a brand new car full stop.  I'd never buy a used car without factory alloys though, so same difference

I think you meant to post this in the "things I do like" thread.

Ironically I too possess rather good physical ability, despite neglecting my body almost every day.  I will have to start doing some sort of exercise soon though, unless I want to lose the ability.

No, this was elsewhere in Evesham.
