For a 40 year old he sounds like a dumbass(no offence)

none taken mate,

He was a clumsy Giant, aint saw him since 01st September 2010 when i got made redundant,

But surely anyone who waits until there 40 to learn to drive has something wrong with them, unless ofcourse they live in a city where public transport is freely available but we live in country side,

He won't get one insurance won't cover him on it your not aloud any turbo charged car until u have held your full uk driving licence for over 6-8 months

Thank Lord for V-Tec yo!! similar boost no turbo,

Not strictly true, a newly passed driver should have no issue insuring a 1L ecoboost (turbo charged).

Generally you can insure anything with enough money.

Just the insurance companies will give ridiculous premiums on big engines and high power output for inexperienced and young drivers.

+1

I was on a provisional license when i first got the focus in 2010 i had one year no claims bonus and my first year on the focus1.6TDCi 90BHP with 1yr no claims was 2,180.00 euro cheapest i could get, i stupidly paid it with redundancy funds should have insured the missus as policy holder and me as named driver instead,

Thankfully now ive got full license and our policy for both o: us is 680.00 euro all modifications declared

well in theroy from my experience owning one febuary-april this year, an elderly person and a polo have alot in common,

Allow me to point out the similarities:

Neither of them can contain there fluids and drop a load anywhere anytime,

Prone to high temperature hates sitting in traffic,

Doesnt remind you with a buzzer you've left your lights on when exiting the car (it forgets aswell)

Much like an old head its only running on 3 cylinders (VW 3-Cylinder 1.2 engine)

It likes to lose teeth aswell, timing tooth snaps at 80,000 result runs on 2-Cylinders and misfires,

And suprisingly enough i sold mine to a guy whom cares for the elderly as an occupation how randomly matched is that?

Get all the messed up piles in to one metal construction on wheels and propell it as fast as possible.

Syanara :)

Poor lenny yours sounded like a right mess, mine was the opposite of everything you said, it was a basic model no power steering but it did have headlight buzzer.

Mine was great timing belt had its first change at 80,000 lol mechanic was shocked beyond believe.

It was really a great car maybe I got lucky

Just seen on Facebook a picture of a flat tyre...on a 2012 Corsa...I didn't laugh much, well not until the driver pointed out the car only has a tin of goop and not a spare :D

He's a nice lad, so I pointed out that the Fiat Grande Punto is built on the same platform and as such he can double his search area for a spacesaver + toolkit

I'm sure a tin of goop is good for a small leak, but if you got a nasty blowout, I'm not entirely sure what use it's gonna be

I've got a full size spare alloy and fresh tyre in my boot :D

Yeah, no amount of goop will bodge that lol

(Although, I do wonder how many would try and then wonder why it won't work?)

I've got a space saver and have swapped the extending wheel brace for something a bit sturdier.

Also, fellow FOC'ers, I would like to clarify my aide was to the cars owner, not to the car itself - I know the lad and he isn't a "car person" and doesn't understand Vauxhalls like we do lol

I had been driving 8 months and bought one and had to change companies as direct line wouldn't insure me on it

There u go my point proven haha :p some insurance groups won't insure newbie drivers on t/c cars :p

Sent from my iPhone using Ford OC

Someone usually will, I was just trying to say that there is no rule on it.

And if you find the right insurer and pay them enough, they'd insure you on anything.

Ohh yer I can get insured on a ford gt if I pay 22000 a year for my insurance haha :0

Sent from my iPhone using Ford OC

Haha, I could've got an ST but the insurance was double and it was a fair bit more money than I paid for the car too

Sent from my iPhone using Ford OC

Ohh yer my insurance for a st225 is 2600 a year so I got a focus mk1 1:8 instead haha

Sent from my iPhone using Ford OC
