haha! I am quite happy today, as I take this (the 300th post of my own thread!) I got a call from the wife a few minutes ago, a letter had arrived from the police (dreading it, wondering had I been s

  • Maybe they overestimated the number of actual thefts though, I mean they should realize that the front of a Vauxhall is likely to fall apart by itself.

  • God help you James can't ring them and say your not satisfied with the junk they gave you. Just ring them up and say that the poor bin man is getting confused he couldn't figure out how to get the Va

All clear for neck damage but they did say soft tissue injury...

No, from the forhead slap when he saw the hire car.

Haha, well it hurt before, but that hire slap really didn't help...

!Removed! hell James. I've just seen this. How are you not locked up with a charge of abh over you I do not know.

What a clown.

Glad you and the Mrs are ok.

Sorry to hear about the hire car but it has made my day. Lol.

Haha glad my misery brings happiness to others lol :-D

Yeah I really don't know how I kept my cool, I personally think I did a good job...

You done very well.

However I would have liked to seen him getting thrown over your bonnet and stomped on. Lol.

He was getting aggressive (verbally) towards my wife. She walked off back to the hotel, but if he kept going you might have seen him going over the bonnet alright from the rear of the car. I was trying to keep the Mrs quiet and out the way but she doesn't deal with stressful situations quietly lol

Lol. Good thing 1 of you can then otherwise it could of ended nasty. I'm seriously going to look into a dash cam now. Purely just from your 3 experience I've heard.

It's worth every single penny mate honestly. If I won the jackpot on the lottery tomorrow I would buy everyone whose active on the forum a camera no second thoughts. As far as I'm concerned it's as essential as the steering wheel.

I think you're right, I'm still waiting for my Mobius in the post, and I think I'll feel a lot safer with it.

Same here still waiting it said between October 8 till the 30th so god only knows when it will arrive.

Yeah soft tissue damage can be horrible I have that myself from my crash back in 2011 that on top of wip lash is bad. If they say u don't have whip lash they don't know it that's the truth or not whip lash can't be proven so there for can be disproven I'm sure u already knew that

Sadly so...

That is horrible giving you that astra. I think I would just refuse it and use my oyster card lolol.

Lol I would use my own car if it was only me, but because I have the kids safety to put first I sadly (and I choke as I type this) I need this car in order to keep them safe...

Every cloud and all that :p

It's a foolish man who gets aggressive towards a Mother after he's done that!! The whole "My kids could have been in there!!" Isn't all that far from "My kids were in there!!"

Lesser of 2 evils!! Chin up, it's only temporary...you'll soon be rid of it lol

Not knocking dash cams or anything, but I'm wondering; given the photos and the positioning of the cars, who in their right mind could possibly see it as your fault???

'Yeh sorry, I must have crabbed by a55 end into your path....'

Haha cheers guys, ye ah Sean the words of my kids could have been in there is a phrase that was used. The sad thing is, I rolled forward a few Inches a short while before he lost it. If the kids where in there he would have collided with the rear quarter and door potentially trapping that door closed and almost certainly writing it off.

This could have been so much worse that is true.

Ian, as for the evidence, it supports the fact he talks out of the side of his back. He claimed there was another vehicle following him down the road and it's his fault he was going so fast. The video proves no such vehicle existed... And unless the mere 114 seconds later was outrun by a 19 year old in a corsa by a good 390mph to put that gap there....

The photos, scenario and now witness testimony prove it's not my fault, but the fact the video further proves lies means it's just one more round of laughter by everyone involved.

Him lying will look bad anyway, but having someone drive right up behind you is no excuse to drive fast yourself, if anything you go slower. It is in the highway code so his reasoning has no grounds at all, regardless of whether it is true.

You ragged the wotsits off that astra yet?

I want to see a photo of Vauxhall tears...

I agree with you James, but as Alex said, it's no excuse. The Highway Code says if someone is tailgating you then you should increase the braking distance ahead of you...

Couldn't agree more with you guys.!

Sorry to hear about this James, you really are having a bad time of it recently! Try and pass on your bad luck to that Astra .

Sorry I still can't get my head around how it could have possibly been someone elses fault, other than the Corsa driver... I mean the fact your car and yourself are not in great condition is no laughing matter, but the whole scenario makes me laugh at the fact the bloke thinks somehow ploughing into the back of your rear quarter makes it somehow your; or someone elses, fault...

Of course, had you been carrying out some of that Dubai drifting, I could see how it could be your fault... but apparently you weren't...

exactly last time a checked the video showed you being stationary waiting not moving but waiting for your chance too get out.

Last time i checked if you crashed into a vehicle that was not moving or impeding your way yo(the corsa driver) u were liable for any damages caused to the other vehicle and or persons. Obviously if your vehicle was over a bit on the wrong side of the entrance then he could have a possible case but the video clearly shows you moving left a bit to give people entering a good bit of space going into the hotel.
