Things I Don't Like

I don't get these French strikers, or more how they get away with this stuff....

If we blocked roads in the UK and burnt tyres etc, we'd get pumped for all we're worth by the EU...

I feel your pain zico. All bar the last one, I have had my nadgers frozen off twice this week by our Aircon.

Such a pleasant image, kind of like frozen popsicles :D

I'm fed up of having to leave for work at quarter to 7, I have had to move my working hours just to avoid the traffic, and even then, avoid the traffic means being stuck in chaos, but a rush hour mark 2 we have brought on ourselves...

It was bad, worse (with the M2 closure on Wednesday) and had the potential to get far worse if the Highways England had to resort to using the M26 to stack even further back.

My team leader is pretty good at keeping things going within the KCC side of things and dealing with the knock on affect onto our network from the HE's. He's off next week on holiday and there is the potential for it all to kick off again by Tuesday!! :(

This kind of BS:

Basildon man with 42 points for driving offences keeps licence - http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-essex-33378386

Clearly this guy is a 4 wheeled menace! Granted we don't need another person on 'benefits' if he loses his job, but this brown eye is a danger to the public and he has been allowed to continue to drive! I'd like to see his insurance quotes, might struggle with his debts when he declares his convictions!!!!

I didn't like having for out to get the Air Con on my 2 year old Focus regassed

Read that on Yahoo earlier and it really boils my blood.

With that level of buffoonery he should get a life ban.

What message does it send to other motorists?

It's not that bad for air con really, normally it needs rehashing every couple of years. Do you use it often?

I only got her in January, and I never had any reason to use the air con until recently. I did turn it on and run it up every now and then. The only previous owner was an old lady so I doubt she used the AC much

That's the most probable explanation then. :)

Haha yeah Aircon is good when it's not interfered with but people at our place change one sensor and they all over compensate and it becomes winter indoors.

As for the team leaders, its always good when your management are easy going, mine are as well, he's the one who suggested we shift our hours.

As for op stack again, I swear if it does happen again, I say we send our riot police over there with water cannons and sort them out. All traffic should be diverted from Calais and sent over to other French ports and stuff them. Let euro tunnel stay under soft armed guard, shoot them with rubber pellets. These people are just taking the mick now. It's no over exaggeration to say it's affecting the entire south east of our country potentially affecting millions of people who just live and work locally

, let alone the thousands of truckers and businesses across the rest if the UK who can't do jack at the moment.

I've had my fill, especially as the migrants started interfering with the tunnel last night and op stack had to be put back into force only hours after it was lifted.

Need to leave a load of lorries in Calais with easy access, let them get in, lock it up and then pay the drivers to drive back into mainland Europe or as far back as possible the other way from the port.

THAT, sounds like a plan!

Opening the doors shouting 'welcome to England' but leaving them in the middle of nowhere sounds better. Just have army reinforcements so they don't take it out in the drivers

I have been thinking a lot about this, and in fact I personally believe this could be considered a new form of terrorism.... Let me explain...

Its not the traditional threat of violence, but beginning a new era.the acts of these people has led to the suffering of lorry drivers and the general public. Lorry drivers have been forced to stay in a vehicle, on the roadside without sufficient food and water, moreso because that's how our police force have to deal with it but these actions triggered by these workers is what has led to their suffering.

Also the fact that people's lives HAVE been put in danger. Recently we have had several accidents on the diversion routes because lorries have been forced to use alternative routes, resulting in lorries flipping over on a roads, risking the general public and the drivers wellbeing - all because of these idiots.

Police resource is being diverted to policing operation stack, meaning their resource can be longer be used to keep Joe public safe. Again an act as a result of these idiots.

Drivers stuck in Calais have now got migrants trying to force their way into lorries but also cabs, risking wellbeing of drivers and for that fact the migrants who are already risking themselves for stupidity.

Roads have increased in high traffic volumes through otherwise calm areas, I saw one guy who was trying to cross a road in a country village where the a roads are normally relatively easy flowing, the poor fella looked like he had been waiting an age. Trying to cross what has effectively become a motorway in traffic volumes is dangerous to that individuals wellbeing.

Fact is, Kent does need to sort op stack with alternative and acceptable lorry parking as has been crisised for years, but the only reason these measures have had to be put in place by our already stretched police resource is because of these idiots who don't want to just make a point, but want to do it in a stupid manner.

I honestly believe they are holding our country to ransom, and despite its not violent approach, I sincerely consider this a new form of terrorism, if I held someone to ransom, cut off trade, forced people into a position of unsafe and poor living conditions (short term or otherwise) there are plenty of laws I am breaking. Why are we letting these people get away with it?

Anyway, that's just my opinion. Perhaps I'm using the term incorrectly or twisting it to suit, of perhaps I'm right and it is going to be considered a form in the future...

Perhaps we should be asking what their interest is in coming to the UK? Huge amount of surplus job vacancices that we have? Or the fact some halfwits think it's a brilliant idea to house and fund these unfortunates in return for nothing!

The main pest is that they live 20 or more to one house, do low paid jobs and send 90% of their earnings home.

They also claim child support for their 9 kids and send that home too.

This means that they put very little money back into our economy so local businesses suffer.

I remember a programme a short while ago where one guy was funding a house build in his own country and another one that openly stated that if he ran short because he'd sent his money abroad that he would go out shoplifting to support himself.

That really takes the pee.

That's really annoying, it's like there's one rule for people like him and another for everyone else. I don't see why his "nervous breakdown" or the amount of debt he's in should work in his favour - it should count against him if anything. The laws applied to motorists are there to protect other members of the public, not to help dangerous drivers get out of debt.

"He told the court he would lose both his home and his job, and be unable to pay his debts if he lost his licence."

Tough s***! If you warrant 42 penalty points then you damn well DESERVE to lose your job, and if you can't pay your debts then maybe next time you'll learn to not BREAK THE LAW.

Between news articles like that and my work (customer service adviser) I am seriously wondering if there are any intelligent people left on this earth.

Stack on again and likely to be in place until Friday morning at a rough estimate :(.

James, don't use the A251 if you do as it's got 2 way temp lights on it for HV electrical fault.

I hate the M4, nose to tail the whole flamin way from London to Bristol.

M5 was fun today, not too many clowns.. the usual middle lane suspects on an off, but generally quite a pleasant drive..

oh wait... things I don't like...

ummmmm, middle lane hoggers...

Actually on the topic of middle lane hoggers, can anyone (clive) advise my on the law regarding passing on the left, for instance on the A38 today I was quite happily trundling along in the left hand lane when a stream of cars were passing my left (I was in a van so had a slower limit :p) ...up ahead the stream of cars all started to slow for some reason and I ended up passing them on the left nearly passing them on the left (gotta be careful not to incriminate myself!)

Undertaking in slow traffic I'd acceptable as long as it's not aggressive and swerving to get to the one that moves the fastest lol

Being asked stupid questions!!!

My aunts 406 being written off because of it being scratched! What a waste of a perfectly good car!

Can she not accept the offer and buy back the salvage? If it is only a scratch why bother claiming?
