Nope...the 2.5 lump weighs about as much as putting a whole fiesta on the bonnet, standard springs wouldn't cope.

Comfort springs on an ST would completely ruin the looks and the handling anyway.  Plus the low profile tyres are a big part of the ride too.  There's no way to make it suitable for me without ruining the car.  I would've had one before now otherwise!!

Can't afford the fuel or tax on those either tbf lol!  I'm still tempted by diesel Mercs tbh... Been looking at  the VW CC GT facelift for nearly 6 months but very few £30 tax ones and they hold their value too much.  But that's the sort of thing I'm after I think...

I think you should re enter the Ford fold with something like a Mondeo. Ours is very comfortable, spacious and plenty of decent diesels, or the 1.6 or 2.0 eco boost engines for some poke. The Titanium X Sport looks the business and is well kitted out too.

I don't like that 5 out of the last 6 trains I've caught for work this week have been delayed.

Always best to leave well ahead of time 👍. I'm not too big of a fan of public transport. Had a old lady push in front of me whilst we were getting on the bus. The overground train stopped well before the front of the platform so people who stood at the back managed to get on the front of the train and us people who stand at the front end couldn't get on as these people forced their way in. Thankfully another train came after 2 minutes.

Also is it me or do you hate it when someone parks in front of your house? The car that's on the truck I noticed is parked a few houses down the road but when I looked that car was already there so that one on the truck is for someone else. Luckily Im not driving so hadn't had to worry about waiting for the driver

That's a fair shout but annoyingly it's only the latest shape that I like and I can't afford those.  For some reason Ford started making awful looking cars across the board around 2010 (Mk7 Fiesta, Mk3 Focus, Mk4 Mondeo) and only rectified that with facelifts around 2014!  My budget sticks me somewhere between those two dates!

Trains outside of London don't run every few minutes lol...some places you only get one every few hours!

And yes, when I was still at home, people used to park across our drive all the time...often the same people!  They couldn't understand why it annoyed me and said I just go and ask them to move each time!

Overground trains come every 10 minutes normally. Feels so long compared to waiting a minute for each underground train.

Once I had these two young lads sitting in a scirocco outside my house. Parked my car next door and asked the driver if he could move so I can park in. Said to me he's waiting for his friend who's just coming. A bit stupid as he could of just moved a bit forward 🤦‍♂️. The guy who came lives several houses down the road and looks a bit iffy why his friend didn't park outside his house.

I really don't understand seeing people in a hurry to get somewhere 😐. They must really value the time in bed 🤣. After driving for a few years I start to get that frame of mind how I look at inconsiderate drivers to how I see people on public transport. Like I said people pushing in to get on the bus or train or coughing without respect to who's around them.

I find the MK4 is easily the best looking of them, especially in facelift form. The MK7 was a good looker when it came out after the staid MK6, but the pre-facelift looks dated on the inside and out (the facelift also looks very dated on the inside) as does the MK3 Focus which I only like the look of in Zetec S form with some body kit additions. The MK3.5 is so much nicer looking in every aspect, and the interior is so much better as well.

Each to their own I guess, I hated the Mk7 PFL when it first came out...and still do 10 years on!  I like the Aston grill front ends across the board tbh, I still prefer the 7.5 and 3.5 to the 8 and 4 even now, thought the new ones would grow on me but they haven't so far!

Yeah, we're all different (fortunately, boring world otherwise!) I still like the PFL  Mk 7 Zetec S or Metal. Several nice ones still around my neck of the woods.

I've finished with trains for this week now. The final score was 6 delayed out of 8 :ranting:

Speaking of trains.

A brand new Azuma train had an accident at the depot this morning in Leeds resulting in delays and cancellations.

That's funny as one guy on the train was moaning about how the trains are and that one of the underground employees told him about the new trains they are bringing in.

I'm surprised about the IT guy they mentioned who paid around £130 to travel from Leeds to London 😢. That's one of the worries I have at the moment as if I get into the job I want to get into I might have to travel to Manchester to do a part time masters

Would you consider living up there while doing the Masters?  One of my mates used to commute to London from Suffolk everyday (3 trains), trains were always late and he was having to pay so much for them, in the end he rented a flat in London as it cost about the same but saved so much time and stress.  I'm sure they've got plenty of hospitals that would be glad of an extra volunteer too.

For that training I have to do a work placement as well as a part time masters. It's 3 years so I'd believe it'll be 2 years for the masters. I'd be really grateful if I get into the training program and also get a London work placement. Last year when I checked the masters is in Manchester University which is a 3 hour travel 😢. I'd of think it'll probably be 2-3 days a week.

Probably might have to live away from family but then if I get into that training (which is the main thing) might consider it as I'll get a good job at the end of it. At the moment I'm volunteering in a hospital A&E ward for nearly 4 years now and I'm in the process of getting my ID card in another hospital so I can shadow a ICU consultant who's a family friend. Hopefully shows how keen I am in for the job as I'll hopefully be visiting 2 hospitals a week. Only thing really is my masters is microbiology and immunology based to thinking of ways this can relate to cardiology the specialism I want to go into. My undergraduate degree I learnt a bit about the heart and I'm thinking relating my masters to it can be such as knowing the bacterial behaviour in a heart infection and immune side to it.

Wish there would be a event most of us on here could attend. Would make my day meeting the nice people on this forum

Sounds like you're getting a future plan in mind now which is good!

Also good to hear that you've got a family friend to help get you some more experience.  It's often about who you know rather than what you know!

Yeah, me too.  Just a shame we're spread out so much across the country!

Plus some of us are pathetic agoraphobes that don't leave our own county...

On a serious note though, if any of you ever are over my way, feel free to meet up!  I met loads of regulars from the Peugeot and VW forums back in the day...but none from the Ford forums so far!

Totally agree! Most car forums have meets, some even regular ones, if there was one being held a reasonable distance from me (with enough people going) I'd totally go

I held one in Ireland before; its crazy how we may develop a mental image of someone which is totally different to how they actually look,

I'm quite shy in Full Reality HD

My existence has become very simple in recent years as I now work six days per week, sleep and spend sundays with my wife and kids; I don't have much variety in conversation.

All said now I have a "Things I don't like" regarding purchasing a computer from Dell online; I ordered a computer online yesterday and processed payment, received a receipt via email and all was good,

Then I still get a phone call from a salesperson just to confirm all of the details and to thank me for choosing Dell; I was going to joke and say "I didn't see any other manufacturer for sale on your website" but the sales person was from a call centre in India and had difficulty understanding that I didn't have a company or business called "nobody's" nor do I have a VAT number

When asked business name online I typed "nobody's" 😂 then they call asking if the business is registered in the uk or Ireland 🤪almost made me smash the phone 🤷‍♂️ I'm sorry it was a joke I don't have a business thanks
