Things I Don't Like

One of my old car mates went straight into a software job with one of the biggest tech companies when he left Uni...I don't think he's on £100k lol, but I wouldn't be surprised if he's on about £50k a year now!  He has so much disposable income, but almost no time to use it.  I chose the wrong path to follow through college lol   Although saying that, if I'd actually completed the electrical stuff I could've been a top electrician by now on £40k+...  As usual, it was my health issues that stopped me getting any further than college, didn't even get a proper qualification as I needed to complete part of that through an apprenticeship.

Probably just lost a wheel weight from that new tyre unless you've been crashing into kerbs again lol!  Or it may be tyre flat spots from the car not being used during the week.

I'm just stressed about what careers I could go in. I'm thinking now I might try to apply to the scientist training program. The problem is that there's not a lot of vacancies each year plus need to do well in the appitude test to get shortlisted for an interview. If Im fortunate to get in the next worry would be where will I be travelling.

Might actually check that and that's a good thought. I think dad is going to check the AC as we might need a new condenser as the pipe from it split causing the AC gas leak

You might as well apply for it even if you're unsure right now.  If you get offered a place but change your mind or get a better offer elsewhere, you can always decline theirs.

Is it worth the cost of repairing the AC now?  Personally I'd leave it until at least next spring now...see what happens with ULEZ and your course etc, you wouldn't get the cost of working AC back if you change car soon after.

As Tom is suggesting there, It's always good to have a plan but don't get too  stressed over it! Be prepared to modify your plans as things progress.  Most of the people I know who had successful careers ended up doing something completely different to their early expectations. You may just find something else more interesting (I did), or the world may change in ways we can't predict. For example, a friend of mine thought he was onto a secure career for life when he joined the National Coal Board................!😀

@Zico I'm seeing a pattern here with you and fiat 500 drivers driven by a woman 😂. I see too many BMW drivers driving badly. I am beginning to consider posting my dash cam clips to the met as they have been dealing with bad driving with little no further actions taken which is really good.

It's not that I seek them out, they just appear around me. The normal Fiat 500 isn't a bad little car, but the 500L is just ugly.

@TomsFocus @Eric Bloodaxe think I might apply to the training, also the biomedical scientist one and probably a few PHDs. Just want to get in a career where i can get up the career ladder with experience and hopefully increased salary

Hi could you post a link to that on here?  My daughter is yr 9 but already knows she wants to work in science.

Here's the scientist training program. The big thing is it's competitive getting in as there's not a lot of vacancies for each specialism plus location isn't certain so I'd be worried about travelling if its too far from home. Other than that it's a good salary starting for the 3 year training plus you do a part time masters with it (again worried about how far the uni would be)

https://nshcs.hee.nhs.uk/programmes/stp/

Biomedical scientist training that's available from the NHS jobs. Some places pay between 25-27k whilst some are £29-36k and that includes the two year training program. Would be silly to get paid higher for the training then to get the job somewhere else with less pay.

PHDs well I might go onto oncology as that's a common research area so more vacancies for that specialism. Only thing I'm worried about a phd is if I get funding, my sanity, if I have to extend it leading to self funding the extra year and if its worth not working and missing out a few years experience in a certain area.

Though with a phd you get a lot of transferable skills plus might make it easier if I was to apply to the STP but again need to know if it's worth it.

I don't like losing yet another station from my kitchen radio.  Looks like radio X has moved to DAB+ as well now.

Get yourself an Amazon Echo Plus to replace the radio mate, all stations across the internet aswell as Alexa and the ability to add more features such as heating controller and sockets,

It's all win win

I don't like phoning my mother to br told I can't talk to you today as your father is here 😂

How mad is that?

Ok well there separated 17 years

And I live 300km away from all family members; I think I'm more annoyed at myself for making the call rather than her excuse for not being able to talk to me,

Basiclly Your fellow parent is in the house and well you were only a mistake; so I cant continue conversation with you; AKA our son 😂 I'm like wow, and now its been over 24hrs and she hasn't gotten back to me, only spent almost 1.5k on smart home technology for her last February three Amazon echo devices hive heating controller etc.

Next time she calls I'm gonna be like; I cant talk rite now as boris is here for a cup of tea and a chat 🖕

I rarely call atall anymore.

I understand the distance can be difficult to maintain a relationship but it would be nice to feel welcome I don't know.

Guess which match I was supposed to be at?

Alright money-bags!

Anything more than free is out of my budget unfortunately lol.

I wouldn't mind so much if the radio was broken, but it works perfectly well.  I don't understand why these small stations are choosing to restrict thier audience by moving to DAB+ when there are still huge numbers of radios, particularly in cars that won't pick it up!

Whats the possibility of Cher is making a comeback next year 😂 and have we now officially switched back to the default mode since were not touching it again.

Did the time go back? I'm a little confused as no one told me 😅

As far as I'm aware it's the EU which want the change of time to be left alone;

Will be interesting to see how many or if any day to day laws will change when the eu laws no longer need apply,

Personally it would be good to see less enforcement on carbon emissions and less of a push towards electric vehicles if the pressure coming from the EU wasn't an issue 🤷‍♂️
