PredictedLizard
Evening all, Just wondered if anyone knew any reasons as to why my 2003 1.6 Focus is slow to start. It doesn't happen all the time. Sometimes I get in, turn the key and BAMMM, I'm off. Other times I turn the key and it will take a couple of seconds to start. Seems to be getting worse now. Any ideas? ChrisTi
Mine did this turned out the relay for the alternator was buggered; went to a breakers yard and they gave me three or four for £2 - local garage wanted £20 for one I think mine would turn over but fail to start so I'd have to turn the key again then second time it would fire, it went on for some time before i had to bump start it to get to a garage

I get a lot of flickering of headlights when it's idle too. The glorious world of owning a car. Although I can't complain too much it's been pretty reliable.
