I was born in Aberdeen (ARI) so I suppose that's where I'm "from", but we lived in Buckie (60-odd miles away) so that's where I consider my home to be.

That said, I currently live in Lossiemouth which is 20 miles west of Buckie. Hope to return there some day though.

Where are you guys from and do you live in your home-town?

I was born in Kingston upon Thames but have lived all over the place in my life, including Germany for a few years. I currently live 35 miles away from where I was born.

In contrast my mum was born in Melbourne and lived in Kuala Lumpur as a child, bit more interesting than Kingston.

If you take into consideration the fact that I've never left Scotland, practically ANYBODY has more traveling experience than me

You haven't lived! :P

True, although I hope to visit Canada one day. Maybe permanently if Scotland continues its journey to hell in a hand-basket.

I'm p*** poor in Scotland, so I may as well be p*** poor in Canada!

Haven't you seen the adverts? Just take out a payday loan with 2000% APR!

Indeed, great deal... At the time!

One day I will save enough to go to Canada, and with any luck I will find a job there and won't return.

On the bright side, they still have Fords over there!!

I was born in Poole General Hospital, just after it was built.

I spent my early years in the suburb of Penn Hill, in one of my Grandad's houses, we the moved literally four roads away, still in Penn Hill, to much larger family house.

As an adult, I've lived in variety of places including Fareham, London, Basel, Geneva, rural Tuscany( in the foothills of the Appenine mountains), and briefly in Thailand, Poole again, and now I'm in Broadstone. Which is technically a village in it's own right, but is being swallowed up by the ever growing Borough of Poole to the south: and East Dorset district to the north.

I have a similar idea, if this country goes to **** I'll emigrate to Australia!

I should think a good third of the people I was at primary school with, have since emigrated to Australia. If you've got a good work ethic, you'll go a long way out there :)

Western Canada & Vancouver Island are simply stunning - i have Cousins there & was fortunate enough to visit them in the late 70's & never wanted to come back.

IF ?

At 16 years of age you missed the glory years by a decade or 3, or 4 or 5 . .

This once great Country went to the dogs too many years ago . . . . Bliar hammered the final nail into the coffin & the millions of armed service personnel that gave their lives for the freedoms we all take for granted today, must be turning in their graves.

Lived in a wee place just outside Wishaw all my days, Known as Wishie to anyone around the area.

Moved out the parental home about 20 years ago. Moved a couple of streets away. been here ever since. No plans to move. I am one of these guys that when I go on holiday its great to be back home in my own wee area I grew up.

Drove lorries all over Scotland and North England, came across many nice wee places on my journeys, especially up the North of Scotland.

But in my eyes none of those places come close to my own area.

Don't get me wrong, some people will say its a sh ite hole and the Bronx and things, but I like it.

My plan is emigrate when the time is right, just waiting to see if this country gets any worse. ;)
