Focus 2010 Zetec S TDCI - Whining Noise at 1100 revs

My car seems to have developed a whining noise between 1000 - 1100 revs regardless of what gear I'm in, weird thing is I first heard it 10 days ago, the issue seemed to resolve itself but then came back 2 days ago

It sounds like its coming from the engine bay and can be heard when accelerating or breaking but always only around 1100 revs

I took it to ATS for a diagnostic as they do this for free for me but cannot actually repair it, they suggested the chain was slipping and take it my local garage for a better diagnosis

The car has done 81000 miles and this issue seems to have no effect on the car whilst driving

Any advise before I take it to the garage would be appreciated:smile:

I would of said exactly the same as the garage. Check all your belts. With the amount of Mileage it has, check the cam belt and all that stuff too!
