I know load of people with 1.6 Zetec, I have never known a belt go. Next door neighbour has same as mine but 2006, has never replaced cambelt and now says it's not worth the cost! I may hold out for next year, 

I think I may be slightly premature.

Did you just hear a snap??

I got a 2006 with 130k ...just doing mine this weekend

  • using chalk and you will need more than a timing belt.

  • Using chalk is incorrect, the cam sprockets should be loosened off and bolts replaced in order to achieve 'perfect' timing.

Soz to bump and old post but I've the same mk2.5 focus 2008 1.6l petrol non vct and have a list of jobs to do this summer timing belt and water pump being one of them.

 

Just wondering if the attachments sent via email are still available or any other pdfs links that could be sent my direction would be really greatful
