Stevenlee91
Need help with a problem I've got with my radio, I've looked around the internet and not found an answer to the problem but it seems to be a common problem/fault. One day when starting the car my radio just wouldn't work, the only thing I get is the Ford Audio welcome screen (See attached pic). When pushing buttons for example the CD button it says no CD but when trying to insert a CD it won't pull it in. The on-off button works along with the door lock and hazards light button so this would suggest its not the Fuse as these are link to the radio fuse, when pressing any of the other buttons on the center console I get no response. Now I've disconnected the battery for an hour to try a reset but this hasn't solved this issue. My next option I think is to remove the radio unit and disconnect all wires and then put it back in but I'm no holding out any hope that this will work. Has anyone had this problem and managed to fix it or can anyone recommend anything to see what the problem is? Many Thanks.
Stevenlee91
I've now taken out the radio and disconnected all the wires also disconnected the screen and connected all backup and it's still NOT working!!! Has anybody got any idea of how to fix this or what I can try next to try and fix this, having a car with no radio/music is slightly boring..... JIMMWX
I know this sounds obviously but have you tried pulling the fuse out and putting it back (though I guess the battery disconnect would have the same effect I had a similar problem on mine where it wouldn't play my iPod all of a sudden, pulled the fuse and works fine now. Hope you get it sorted.

Stevenlee91
I've now changed the fuse and by no surprise it hasn't fixed the problem. I've taken pictures of the cd/radio unit for the part number and having looked online but I'm unable to find a unit with the same part number so I can change them over and see if it's the unit that's faulty. I can find similar part numbers but the last 2 characters are different, can anyone let me know if the last 2 characters are significant or the units would work in my car? Also I noticed on the unit that the Model is "Radio AHU" and not "Radio AHU DAB" but when the radio was working I was getting DAB can anyone explain this? Stevenlee91
Well I have bought a second hand unit off eBay not the exact same part number, I purchased BM5T-18C815-HK and fitted it over the weekend and now everything is working as it should be. GrumpyJohnnie
I have just taken ownership of a 2011 fiesta and have the same issue. I’ve tried the same as you have so it looks like I will looking on eBay. My only concern like you is getting one that can be a straight swap as I’m clueless with audio equipment.
