I do like seeing episode one of Series three Grand Tour is available to watch on Amazon today šāāļø I also like the fact that it's Friday as I'm choosing not to work overtime tomorrow, going to spend time with family instead; few jobs to do for my mother aswell,3 points

So, finally got a test drive in the Hyundai i30n this morning, and have to say I was quite impressed with it. I'd particularly wanted to try the "basic" 250ps version having read some very negative reports about the ride on the the 275ps "Performance". The Performance is the biggest seller so all the dealer demos seem to be that version, but my local dealer had a used 250 come in so I took the opportunity. Anyway, found the ride was very acceptable ( the 250 comes on 18" wheels, the Performance on 19". Can' t get a definitive answer as to whether the suspension is a bit softer also - no mention in the specs - but the sales guy, who has driven both, reckoned it felt that way to him. Freezing temperatures this morning so not a good day for zooming about, but the engine didn't feel as strong as, say, a Golf GTI low down, but picked up at higher rpm, quite decent feel to the steering and felt well planted. Felt quite compact to drive. The 250 doesn't have an active variable exhaust but in sport mode still sounded pretty fruity from outside when fired up in the car park. Found the driving position and seat spot on (for me - we're all different), liked the steering wheel and small points like mechanical handbrake (though like @Stoney871 mentions above the console got in the way a bit) and you can blank the screen but still display the time (unlike in my Fiesta). Otherwise good levels of kit, seemed well screwed together (this was an 18month old, 8,000 mile car car), hard plastics but no rattles on this particular car. Had a bit of an "old fashioned feel" which, as I'm pretty old fashioned myself, I rather like! So, waiting to see what the Mk 4 ST is like (and other things mentioned in earlier post - if they ever appear!), but would certainly give this further consideration - didn't expect to be saying that tbh.2 points

BBC News - Grey is the UK's favourite car colour for the first time http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-46906254 Black will always rule in my book, but I approve of their choice of headline photo Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk2 points

I forgot I use to own a Fiesta ST too, probably because it was only for 30 mins! I was a salesman at a Ford dealership and on my last day working there I knew that we had a ridiculously cheap ST in stock which I was able to purchase at trade value. I bought it, drove it to another dealership 30 mins away that my brother worked at and sold it to them making a very quick Ā£1500, result!!! It was a very nerve racking drive there though as I had to take finance out on it to buy it. The finance was paid off within a week so no interest was accumulated. That was the one and only time I actually made money on a car rather than losing it.2 points

This seems to be all the rage currently, post 2 pictures ONLY...your current car and the one from 10 years ago! '97 Peugeot 306 Miami. 1.4 petrol 75bhp. Modifications - CD player instead of tape deck, digital clock and outside temp sensor, 15" GTi6 Cyclone alloys (check that arch gap, it came on 13" steels! ) '12 Volkswagen Golf Match Bluemotion Tech. 2.0 diesel 140bhp. Modifications - 3D Gel plates, chrome exhaust trim, dice valve caps.1 point

(Switch two sensors around) Switch the position of the sensor not making any noise with another then put the car into reverse (ignition on but not started) and listen to the sensors to see if the one originally not making the noise is still silent.1 point

I think they deliberately missed out the apostrophe for that very reason... Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk1 point

You could always post a pic of your family's car at the time if you want to take part. ;)1 point

Ford are asking Ā£75 each for the sensors, so even Ā£40 seems a bargain? I think I might just take a chance and buy one that looks close, although I should probably check the wiring to make sure I'm not replacing a perfectly good sensor because of a broken wire?1 point

I've finally got my refund from Sky... 7 weeks after leaving them. I wonder what would have happened if I'd waited 7 weeks before paying them.1 point

Thanks you both.. Yeah I forgot about those sensors for the leveling. I really wish they'd released those full-led lamps when the car was released, I would have been happy to pay a bit extra for them. Now it's probably a whole lot more..1 point

A lot of people use them hand car wash's I never have but might have two getting to old to be messing about cleaning it1 point

Lol, my neighbour has a silver car, it never looks dirty but he hardly ever has it cleaned. I bought a silver car and immediately found out they do get dirty...and mudflaps make no difference either. This was just the day after a wash! Then I realised, my neighbour probably only ever drives around town lol...1 point

I went through the same thought process recently with mine after a rebuild but came to the conclusion that's its just not worth it! A decent remap will get approx 140HP and, more importantly almost 300NM of torque. The 5 speed boxes are not the greatest and any more power than what a map will get you will likely just introduce reliability issues. If you want to go chasing numbers then you will end up with a decent bill trying to get it to run right IMO....1 point

To be fair, I've had the van since August and never washed it lol (In my defence I was away for summer, so it was the OH driving it...and umm, well...it's winter and I hate washing cars in winter lol)1 point

Thank you so much for taking the time to reply, this is really helpful. We don't want to name the garage at this stage as we are trying to be fair with them but it is a dealer level garage so we are very disappointed that this has happened and they do not appear to be dealing with it correctly. Thanks again1 point

You'd soon change your mind looking at my van š You can actually trace the spray patterns up off the wheels and from passing traffic lol I'll grab a pic in a bit lol1 point

Grey does look good on some cars like the mk6 fiesta zetec s and E46 3 series. Something Iike with silver is its hard to see scratches and dirt on it. White also looks nice. If I was going to get the mk6 ST I'd go with white. Only thing I don't like with white cars is they show dirt more easily plus they are more money compared to other colours. I'd stick with black. When it's clean it's like a mirror.1 point

Hey guys I too have got my car back:-) am pleased to report that Iām confident they have fixed the problem as the have put an extra 60miles on my car I do believe it has been done thoroughly. What I can also say is that I absolutely love the way the car drives and handles! I will admit I had a little try of the sports mode and jeez can it pull for such a small engine. Anyway guys hope you all have a good Christmas with your fords take care Paul.1 point

as a practical joke , and to make the point that an employer has no right to project their own personal beliefs onto its staff , i suggest you do the following ; rent a 5.0 ltr V8 mustang , preferably in a lairy yellow colour with go faster graphics , rev the crap out of it when you pull into the company carpark each morning , then proceed to park it in the directors personal space i'd probably go one further and announce my arrival with a dukes of hazard musical horn :and a couple of tyre donuts for good measure -D dude , seriously , theres other jobs out there lol.............1 point
