I bet if you looked into the market demographics, it would be something like at least 2/3 or 3/4 of buyers of crossovers/compact SUVs are female...🤨2 points

I do love the smell of aqua wax in the morning (and the sight of a clean engine bay). Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk2 points

Hi all, Had this beauty a week now, never considered a diesel until I had a test drive (I guess I'm at a stage where the daily commute costs are important). So far I'm very impressed. The spec is awesome and the drive handling as you would expect from a focus. This is my 3rd focus from the Mk1 and 10th Ford model over the years. Looking forward to discovering many tricks and tips.2 points

Common problem with Sync3 just do soft reset . Hold Radio power button and skip forward for few seconds until screen goes blank then resets . Should be in owners handbook.2 points

No. I put terribly cheap amber LEDs in when I first de-egged the car and it never threw a dash fault. One of them crapped out a few months later and still no fault. Makes me wonder how long it was like that for... What are 4D gel plates? Edit: nvm, I have google at the top of my phone screen dont I??!1 point

Hi, my driving is mainly town and I use normal mode, according to the car computer I am getting 39 mpg from my 150 bhp auto, I the real mpg is closer to 35.1 point

Yeah it's easy enough to get the cowl off, might be worth a check? It's also worth resetting the BCM first though!1 point

Hooo mannn these are nice!! I've had some smoked ones in my eBay basket for ages but they were £70 per side! I have just pur-chased a set of these and will wait patiently for them to arrive....... .... ....... .... ... Why aren't they here yet??????!!!??1 point

Just a thought, could it be possible the switch contact in the indicator stalk is dodgy or dirty? That might explain why it's right side only, and is fine when hazards are on...1 point

What did you pay for them? I offered him £18 and he took it 😁 i put a 10a fuse in the correct slot in the rear fuse box and everything worked perfect, just odd that it was missing. Who the f#ck took it lol1 point

I think that's a good choice 👍. Would love them either in gunmetal or bronze on my fiesta 😍1 point

They're just not for me, although I know everyone in suburbia must have one. Cracks me up that it's supposed to be all about the environment these days so why is everyone buying cars that take more resources to build and use more fuel? And I agree with Chris Harris, the big ones are simply hateful vehicles. Thanks very much 😀1 point

That's probably right. My Mrs is always saying she likes something just because it's high. Even in the little SEAT Mii she has now, the seat is up to maximum height - when I drive it I feel like I'm sat on a bar stool.1 point

Just discovered there's a new Terminator Movie out 😲 I like all of them so far, I'll have to wait now until its available on NowTV as we don't go to the cinema dud to not having/trusting anyone to mind the kids we never go anywhere just us, But its great to know theres a new movie of interest coming soon.1 point

I had this on my focus its the heater cable. When you turn the heater knob it pulls a cable which it turn opens the heater flap to let air through the heater matrix. I would pull the radio out and watch the cable as you turn the knob. I bodged mine with a cable tie. Worst case is a new cable which is £30 from Ford.1 point

Sounds like good advice. 33/26 same pressures as my previous MK7 ST-Line seemed to work fine on that 👍1 point
-
Yes, that's my point. The Fordpass App recommended tyre pressure for my car does not correspond to the door sticker for any load/speed so either the door sticker is incorrect or the App is incorrect. (or both are incorrect is the other option I suppose 😃)1 point

Sounds like dirty contacts in the indicator relay. I don't know which it is offhand, but you should be able to unclip the cover once you have it out and clean the contacts with some very (very very) fine sandpaper, or even a fairly abrasive cloth. Edit, Actually, having said that, that wouldn't explain why it is only one side. Does it do it with hazards on? Might be possible to rule out the relay once located by swapping with an identical one from another circuit in the car.1 point

Its a weird one. It's not like a super mini like it used to but now a crossover. Would be cool if they make a ST version or puma racing1 point

Back on my Merc I had a knock that sounded like top mounts but was actually internal to the shocks. You couldn't see it from the outside.1 point

I do like finding out that Flybe liked a photo of one of their aircraft I took and put on my photography account on Twitter.1 point

Have you carefully checked the springs, I had one go a few years back on My Citroen C4, it snapped right near the top mount about 1 coil down but it was not easy to see as it looked to be ok with the weight of the car on it.1 point

Lol, you were only meant to touch them, not hold them. I assume it's just manual temp control on yours, not electronic climate? If so, the diverter flaps are cable operated - ie, twist the dial, dial pulls cable, cable pulls flap open to let hot air through. Most likely to be a damaged cable but you'll have to remove the dash panel to have a look either way.1 point

Hello guys. My name is Gonçalo (hard to pronounce, I know [emoji23]), I’m from Portugal and I’m a Fiesta MK8 ST-Line Ecoboost owner. I have it for half an year and I’m completely in love! Regards1 point

Have you tried a master reset? In the general settings. If not, it sounds like the ACM has gone kaput. This is the box underneath the screen that houses the radio components and CD slot. Do you have an OBD cable and Forscan software? If you're comfortable with such things, you can try resetting the ACM module. If not, you could pick up another ACM fairly cheaply (if you can find one on its own on eBay, else from a scrappie). It's 4 torx screws to take it out and replace, less than 15 minutes work. Edit: yes, it's as I thought, most are sold on eBay as a complete kit with the screen and fascia which makes them pricey. Best bet if it does need replacing is to go to a scrapyard. Lever the cover along the bottom of the fascia off, there's 2 T25 screws behind. Undo and lift the fascia from the bottom and carefully up the sides and unplug the cable, this reveals the ACM under the screen. 2 more bolts, one either side at the top, then the unit pulls out with a sharp tug forwards. Undo the plugs. It's that easy! You can at least try this on your own car to see if connections want reseating. It's unlikely but worth a try!1 point

That's ok, the OP has managed to build a time machine and bring back a Mk5 Focus.1 point

I drain mine out and pop in a couple of bottles of kettle descaler, press the buttton for a few seconds, front and rear, slosh loads of water on the paint work straight`away, again leave to stand for a few minutes, purge the tank empty using short presses on front and rear buttons make sure to slosh the paintwork well with clean tap water. Refill tank with ready mixed screenwash fluid and carry on with life.1 point

Tbh I'd be more concerned if there was little or no condensation. Long live the car [emoji106] Sent from my SM-G965F using Tapatalk1 point

Totally normal. The amount of condensate will vary depending on the humidity levels day to day. Imagine a cold beer can straight from a fridge on a warm day. Sent from my SM-G965F using Tapatalk1 point

Hi, Thought I'd update you all on the outcome. Had a scan done and it was showing a network issue, basically an electrical fuse, joint, earth, connection was faulty somewhere on the car. The guy said it would mean going through every wire to try find the issue. When he went I looked at the sensor connections and fuses in the engine bay, cleaning and disconnecting and reconnecting each one. The fault went and it started! So, it was fixed. Unfortunately a couple of times after that the same fault occured, engine fault light came on and it cut out. I wiggled the wires and connections again and fault went! To solve the problem, I in turn when the fault appeared, moved each connector one at a time until fault went and I narrowed it down to the fuel return pipe sensor that is fastened underneath the inlet manifold, still don't know the purpose of it? I examined the connector and wires and discovered that both the wires had rubbed through the covering and were bare wires causing it to intermittently short together. I've cut wires, put in a connector and wrapped in insulation tape and it all seems fine now. At the same time I removed the 2 other sensors on the inlet manifold as they were covered in gunk and the car seems a lot smoother runner than before 👍1 point

@Monks600 if you bought the sync adapter of amazon. Buy a long yellow rca lead and run that to the boot handle and power and ground from either your reverse light or preferably from an ignition 12v supply from somewhere. Easiest thing I’ve done yet.1 point

Find a council MOT centre. They have to be open to the public and most often don't carry out any repairs. This means there's no reason to fail it on something that doesn't need doing so that they can make easy money.1 point

sadly this is a great example of why a £100 a month lease deal isn't all that silly..... brand new, all the latest safety stuff and a long warranty = reluctantly join the club... give it a few years and it will be the only thing for those that must have a reliable car, the accountants are at least 15 year in front of how you think, its all DTF these days yes, if your job means you can miss days off, you like oily hands, wasting weekends and have the skill set some can run an old nail... but the ones that keep going are a dying breed, and high insurance, road tax and fuel use together with ULEZ, no connected toys and a lack of safety mean it won't be long1 point

If you get the engine running dont switch if off keep it fuelled up and running until you sell it. 1.6TDCi and 2.0TDCi are Citröen peugeot engines might aswell be a 407 exact same engine.1 point

Did the AA actually do a compression test or just give up because the code reader didn't find anything? Did the oil pressure warning light come on at all? Or the battery warning light? Is the aux belt still on? With respect, it doesn't sound like you have the tools or experience to be checking the timing. You'd need to jack the car up, get the wheel and arch liner off, remove the upper engine mount, crank pulley and then strip off the belt covers to see if everything's still lined up. Not a simple job I'm afraid.1 point
