hi there im new to theis place n thought id give it a go,,ive just bought my partner a little 1.4 escort because she decided she wants to learn to drive,ive done a bit ov work on it to bring it up to scratch but its got a banging noise from the n/s front wheel?ive had it jacked up but cant seem to find the problem?i seem to have drawn a blank,it only does it at low speeds and i can notice it more below 20/30mph,,so just wanted too see if any one has any ideas?? many thanks



have you checked all the rubber bushes on the suspension system its the most likely suspect.

checked em all and cant see any bad bushes,,nowt seems bent or in the wrong place either???,,ad it round the block n it still doe's it but not as much when goin a little faster,,,its just had 2 new wishbones put on before i bought it too,,,but they seem fine aswell,,,im probably lookin too hard and its staring mee in the face,,,lol

i think i have the same problem on my mk4

ive just had the g/box done on mine i was told it needed a new drive shaft but the mot guy coudlnt find a problem with it he said it was either the front suspension struts (alough i just put them on there) or the track rod arm....

my noise it a tapping get louder to about 45 50 the quiter drop the clutch and i goes away or taking out of gear
