UK345
I have noticed the last few times while driving my car that there is a slight blow in the exhaust. This has been caused by the hard blocks of ice hitting underneath the car as it drives along. The car has the full orginal system. The blow is coming from where the intermediate section would join onto the backbox. Two questions: Would i have to replace the intermediate section along with the backbox or can these split ? How much am i talking ? Id buy the parts and fit them myself to avoid !Removed! labour rates. Would i be eligable to make a claim to glasgow city council as the cause of the blow is down to the poor conditions of the road ?

grin factor
I think you'd be hard pressed to claim mate, if its the original exhaust its 6 yrs old, and they would claim it was probably on its way out anyway. If it was 1 yr old you may have a case

stef123
im not entirely sure how your exhaust looks, but alot of OE exhausts are one piece. this means you cut out the damaged section and fit in a new bit. if its just the centre pipe thats nacked then you should be able to buy it on its own for about £40?
