Pattern On Sony Stereo

I purchased a Sony Stereo for my 2006 Focus to replace the standard ford unit. When it arrived I noticed it had a sort of water droplet effect on all the buttons. I was told it was from a 2007 Focus ST and I am wondering if anyone else has seen this before. I've been looking at cars (ST's and Titanium's) and images online and never seen this pattern there all just plain silver. The unit itself works perfectly i'm just curious to know if anyone has seen this wired pattern before.

Thanks, Marc :)

My heated windscreen buttons and stereo surround had something similar when I got mine managed to get rid of most of it by using waterless wash/wax spay but you can still see it a bit on heated windscreen buttons. My take on it is someone has used some kind of cleaner which has damaged/stained the finish.

I would say the same, whatever it has been cleaned with has stained, try a small bit of diluted all purpose cleaner, I did this on my mondeo which appeared to have water marks on the door cards and it's come off
