Hi Guys. Any technical minds in here who can say more about this?

Seems all the rage with Ford Fiesta owners in Malaysia, and they have both data and a lot of good comments about the part as well.

Here is their Facebook page, have a look as well:

Possibly a waste of money!

It's a pulley with an internal clutch, if the alternator is rotating faster than the belt then it disengages and reduces the drag on the engine.

But how can the alternator rotate when it's driven by the engine?

Nothing but a ball ache these, they are generally used on diesels to smooth out the engines and stop pulling on the aux belt. Had one on my corsa derv, they tend to fail every 2 years or so, make a nasty squealing noise. I changed 3 in my ownership it was practically a service item lol

Sent from my Nexus 5 using Ford OC mobile app
