Me9141
Hi all, Hope you are well. Just adopted a Focus estate 1.8 TDCI estate 2005. It was given to me free of charge as I had car issues and had to get rid of my old car. Never looked at the focus's but seems a good car. Its got 140K, but has had everything done to it fairly recently, cambelt & water pump, clutch, flywheel, injector re-furbish, new battery & alternator etc etc. I am looking to keep it for some time. Few little things that need doing such as the squel from the cam belt and the exhaust heat shield needs fixing, could do with a thorugh clean and tidy up of various bits. Just wanted to know what mods would be good for the car, looking to do bits to it that would make it more useable for me and make it more relaible etc etc. Thanks in advance. Kind regards, Mike
IINexusII
Nice, if its a 2005 are you sure it is a MK1? i thought they stopped producing the MK1 in 2004 That belt squeal is most likely the auxiliary belt that runs the power steering and alternator, to verify it use some talc powder or some sort of spray on it and if the noise stops temporarily then its definately the belt, not too much to replace either. Sorry meant the squel from the fan belt. Seems to do it when cold only. Will give it a shot and go from there. Yes its a Mark 1, think its a late registered.
