yunii
Hi, i noticed the ice warning light in the cluster is not coming on . Tezza checked withthe elm 327 if its ticked on box & its ticked . Although it shows the outside temperature & it was 1°c this morning so should have lit red snowflake. Could it be the sensor alone? Anyone any ideas? Goodkat
1 degree Celsius would be a yellow, not a red. Red is 0 or below. I would start with doing the instrument cluster self test (hold set button, put key in and turn to ig 2) and then do a light check which will illuminate it yellow and red flashing. If it doesn't come on then the fault is in the cluster Sent from my Gen 1 WAP phone

Does mean the bulb is blown or something? Can these bulbs or leds be replaced? Yunii
troy45
Have you updated your cluster firmware with ELMconfig at any time? I had issue with the ice warning not working, was due to the version of ROM512 had been modified to remove the feature. With mine the light would still illuminate yellow/red when you put the cluster into Test mode

I just tested a minute ago. So what is the solution to work the feature? It was working before. Yunii

troy45
On the information page for HEC in ELMconfig it'll show Initial ROM Level, so you'd be able to see if that was also ROM 509. Some of the ELMconfig files were re-written to disable Ice warning as the programmers were Russian and the warning can be on all the time in their climate. I hadn't realised the differences in their choices of firmware as it wasn't winter when I updated mine. See here http://www.fordownersclub.com/forums/topic/31287-guide-for-focus-mk2mk25-c-maxkuga-elm-327-cable-and-ff2-program/page-146 Does look like there are versions of ROM 509 which may well turn off the Ice warning, i.e. ROM 509 Full from the ELMconfig menu.
