Simon N
Hi all. I have just purchased a 2014 Mondeo Zetec Executive and traded in a 2012 Bmax. What I can't get my head round is why the newer Mondeo comes with Ford Audio and the older Bmax comes with Ford Sync. Clearly Ford Audio is nowhere near as good as Ford Sync. For instance when using voice control to select iPod songs you can only select track numbers and not track names. I have 1500 songs on my iPod and wouldn't have a clue as to what song correlated with what track number. However in a car 2 years older with Ford Sync I could simply call out the track name, album, artist etc I don't understand this antiquated step backwards in a newer car, or am I missing the point?? Can anyone explain?? Thanks in advance.
ianincheshire
The Mondeo has been due for replacement ever since the new model was unveiled in 2012 (in the USA) as the Fusion. It was originally slated to be in the UK by early 2014 but the closing of the Ghent factory delayed that somewhat and it finally appeared late last year. Anyway, given that, I assume Ford decided that there was no point in making major changes(like fitting SYNC) to a model due to be replaced soon. I also have a 2014 TitX Mondeo and TBH, I find the Ford Audio system much easier to operate than the SYNC system on my colleagues Focus and my wifes Fiesta. Ok so the Ford Audio lacks some features that SYNC has but in general it does the job. I've not found that voice control works reliably on either system, if fact the only thing I find works with voice is Temperature control and TBH it's easier just to reach out and turn the dial!
