Ford S-MAX fitting DRLs reprogramming

I have a 2014 1.6  Ford S-MAX but came with no DRLs standard. I have just purchased the genuine  DRLs  with the wiring  loom  from a breaker and not quite sure if these will work  on my car?  I've spoke 2 local  auto  electricians  1 stating they might need to reprogram  the computer  and the other stating that it's standard and should work  without programming even dimming 50% when putting the headlights on with no fault codes showing? Please  can any expert help me with this as the auto electrian  still wants money for taking off bumper and looking to see if they work, thanks.
