    Puma spare wheel.

Think the 16” spacesaver weighs about 17 or 18 kg. The megabox has a load limit marked on it somewhere and iirc, it’s in excess of the weight of the wheel. the box differs to the supplied one with the spare wheel in that there is a steel reinforcement to bolt the wheel down to. you wouldn’t want the wheel flying about in the cabin in an accident.

    Ford Maps

I am surprise the latest map is from 2022, these are quite a lot of roads that have changed since then. In saying that, I've never updated mine, I always use Waze on my phone, or plug it in for Andriod Auto (Google or Waze). I can remember driving home from Knockhill, and Waze on my phone sent me across the new (Kincardine?) bridge, the cars satnav thought I was swimming, lol!

    Interior cleaning

I don't know about 'new car smell' but I've used AG Interior Shampoo on my previous cars cloth seats. Having White bolsters/outsides was a nightmare to keep clean, but the Shampoo helped a lot. The only tip is do it on a hot day which helps seats dry quicker. I have not yet cleaned my Fiesta seats and am surprised it has kept the new car smell for nearly 6 years.

    Wet Belt replacement recommendations

Hello and Welcome to the Forum. Be warned, it will be a very expensive bill as it's very labour intensive and expensive special tools are required. It is unlikely even at a small garage a bill of less than £1,000. I was quoted £1,500 at my local dealer when I last asked. However if it's not done and it snaps, say goodbye to your engine!

  11. Please note it's the High Current fuse box, the voltage is still just nominally 12 Volt. Personally I prefer to use the one from Ford, as there are many copies, fakes and dangerous after market fuses out there.

Loud creaking / mechanical noise under braking

I’ve had the exact same issues with a 66 plate ST, been to multiple garages but they can’t pin point what is wrong. It’s had a new OSF driveshaft, wheel bearing and 2 lots of break discs and pads! I’m at a loss with it now! 🙄
  13. Hi , my ford focus ecoboost 1.0l having a mil lamp with error code p2227. Car stumbling when we tend to accelerate. It’s automatic so find issue while gear shifting. had same issue 2 weeks back. That time cleaned the throttle and car run fine for a week. Got same issue again with ignition on and engine off MAP sensor reading 111.0 kpa, with idle it reads 53 to 56kpa at 946 to 968 rpm. can you please help me resolve this issue.

    P0069 help

If it is not any of the ones that FORScan recommend then it will be a clone of a clone of a clone and may work ok for what you intend to use it for but I wouldn't attempt to do any serious programming with it. If it does work then there may be a warning when you open FORScan with it to say it is not suitable, this does not mean that you can't read Fault Codes or Data. FORScan put that warning because a lot of people were bricking their cars when programming with clone Adaptors and blaming FORScan. FORScan do not make or sell Adaptors and anything other than the recommended ones that have FORScan in their name are taking liberties because FORScan did not trademark their name. See this from the official FORScan Forum, it mainly applies if you are using FORScan for programming rather than what you want to use it for. https://forscan.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=17072

  16. Well I've listened carefully and it sounds like it has a bit of a camshaft rattle and the exhaust is blowing a little 🤣

Londoners – what have you done??

Sadiq Khan is now enjoying his 3rd term as mayor. He has presided over the largest increase in knife crime ever. He has enforced the ’congestion’ zone. Introduced ULEZ (ignoring a public consultation heavily against and is currently under investigation for doing so), then pleased at it’s money raising power, increased the zone to ‘outer’ London. Building fewer social housing than Boris (!). Regularly displays traits of being as woke as you can get. Allowed ER to glue themselves to roads/trains and gave police direction to either just leave them, or spend hours using solvents to remove them. (They should have been left in situ if they glued themselves, and allow traffic to veer round them!) He regularly holds the government to ransom for demands to excess funding of TFL as he has lost total control of it’s operating budget. The list of his failings are endless, yet the majority of Londoners obviously love this guy to bits, as he gets chauffeured around in his £450,000 bomb proof Range Rover. You had a candidate (Howard Cox) whose manifesto included from day one, to terminate the congestion zone charge, and rescind the total ULEZ scheme, yet he barely registered in votes. Well, I guess some turkeys do vote for Christmas ... 😂
  18. Difficult to say for sure, I've never come across a Ford Model Smith before 🤔 I guess that's why you have had to post in the General Ford forum. You could try using FORScan it might work, but on a 2001 vehicle I'm not sure what if any DTC's you would get regarding a transmission fault.

    Things I Don't Like

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cjr7z907ndlo Not looking forward to tomorrow's flight out of Birmingham. Been chaos this week with passengers missing flights due to ongoing security improvements causing very long delays. In complete contrast to our experience at East Midlands in January when the place looked closed .

    1ltr ecoboost engine refit

Is there enough loom length to swap the cam sensor plugs between inlet and exhaust and then run the engine to see if the 5 degrees moves across? It's looking like either faulty sensor wiring on the inlet cam sensor. Or the inlet cam was genuinely timed wrong when the belt was fitted, and the PCM is not attempting to vary it now as a failsafe. Have you tried resetting the learned values for the cams via Forscan?
  21. unofix

    LKAS, TSR failure

It sounds like the camera has failed 🙄 Or it may have become partly detached from the windscreen. The clear gel pad that fixes the camera can sometimes become unstuck, especially if the windscreen has been replaced at anytime in the past.
  22. Short answer to that is no. Different factories received the new engine at slightly different dates due to logistical distances etc. For the S-Max, the official changeover in build date is 08/10/2007.

    2019 Galaxy

Always nice to see a regular member back 🤣 Yes, but you will have to do it yourself using FORScan and a vLinker cable. Only takes about 10 minutes. The changes should be the same as my 2019 Focus.

That’ll save me a job and probably wouldn’t have achieved very much. Thanks for the information.

    Water in spare wheel well

Hi , I bought a Ford c max a couple of years ago & have had this problem so I did some investigation into where the water was coming in , after opening the boot door , there is a plastic panel on each side of the body work , they are just clipped into the holes in the body work , after removing these I found a circular hole about the size of a 10 pence coin , this is where the water comes in when it rains or you wash your car , I purchased some aluminium tape & put it over these holes & replaced the plastic back on the body work & i have never had a wet boot space again , also I use the hanging wardrobe moisture bags in the car to soak up any condensation & its never been wet inside either , I hope this helps 👍

Fiesta mk6 AC not working past fan speed 2

With the blower "Off" the aircon should go off anyway, so perhaps a dirty wiper/wafer on the blower switch. With the ignition off, you could try rotating the blower switch a few times to clean the contacts.
