Asif Posted July 1, 2018 Share Posted July 1, 2018 I have a 2010 Ford Focus 1.6 tdci. Since the last few days my battery light on dash has been coming on and off intermittently. Had a new battery in Feb this year. So got my battery and alternator checked and mechanic said both battery and alternator seem to be charging fine. Mattsw Posted July 1, 2018 Share Posted July 1, 2018 I had this with my girlfriends Focus, try switching multimeter to AC and see if there is a draw..... It signals failed diode in alternator so it drawing as well as charging, i changed alternator and all is well again, its an easy job too Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
