Hi Andrew, as mentioned in several threads, the Wi-Fi update is not currently operative in UK and several members have been advised by their dealers to turn off auto updates. Dealers generally seem wi

I find TSR and speed alert a useful feature on the Fiesta which works well - most of the time. As you say, it is affected by GPS not being up to date, but also by signs not being picked up because the

I had same issue and resolved it the same way. I guess the website must read the device IP address. Didnt happen after previous updates Wonder how a third party checks the status ?. Incidentally

I have updated sync3 today (16/2/20) and all went well and success was reported to Ford via the log file from the usb stick used. A 30-40 min process.

The unit appears to be working normally.

However, I read from posts above that maps take 2 hours. How do I do that? There is no mention on the Website that this is an additional process.

Confused.

Just updated today on the drive home from picking up my new ST-Line! Took about 20 minutes to update.

Do we know what was changed in this latest update?

Hi guys, not been on here for a few months but I am still having the afore-mentioned issue where I get the "Installation in progress...…" message appearing most times when I start the car up. My local dealer has had the car 3 times in recent weeks to try and sort it but have been unable to make it go away and have raised a technical query with Ford. Has anyone else encountered this after updating their Sync 3 ??

UPDATE.....Car went back in again on Wednesday and apparently it took 12 hours to do a 30GB download and installation, but it finally looks as though they have cured the problem (fingers crossed). The tech guy stated that it is a global issue that Ford are aware of and they had started to replace the Sync 3 control modules but as that was proving very expensive, they are now trying this software download instead. I have to try it for a week and then let them know if it has been successful, but after 4 days the message has not re-appeared, so, fingers crossed 😁😁

I'm from Holland and the owner of a Kuga Vignale from 2018 with sync 3.0 and F7 navigation wich is from 2017. Ford promised to update for 7 years every year the navigation maps, but after once I don't see anything on the update site. In Germany I found last year F8 navigation to download and I installed it with a exfat formatted usb stick of 32 gb. Works fine , but also outdated from 2018. I had uploaded the log file and Ford accepted the software as genuine Ford. Now I have found on https:/cyanlabs.net an update to sync 3.4.20021 and F9 navigation software for all over the world. Several packadges. The maps are genuine made by Ford ! When you have sync 3.0. you can install it and on my car it works super ! A new layout with more possibilities and twice as fast as sync 3.0 and maps from 2019. It works nice and smoothly. I am very happy about this, so when I was reading what you all experience with updating I share this with you. Take your advantage with it ! Follow the instructions on the site exactly and there you go!

I have a Ford Focus Titanium mk 4 (1.0l 125ps  my 18.5) and was getting fed up with being on Sync 3.3 and having an old F7 map. So I took the step of following the log by "Jan" above. The instructions were superb and were very simple to follow, and the downloads were all there. The downloads took about an hour to get on to 2 x usb sticks as suggested and I installed this afternoon - which took about an hour, and I can confirm that I am now on Sync 3.4 and map F9. I have now had a good play with it and whilst I had to go through all the settings to set it all up, which is dead easy to do anyway, I am pleased that everything seems to be working as normal - mainly looking at radio, navigation, speed limits, speed limiter, lights, alarm which all seem ok. I am really pleased and I will have another long look tomorrow and only report back if anything is not working.

Further to above post, I can confirm the Sync 3 update to 3.4 and F9 map update has worked perfectly.

Just got a Focus Titanium X 2017 1.0 Ecoboost from a dealer.  It has Sync 3 V2.3 Build 17109  and F6.1 maps.  I have decent broadband but the 2 Gb ish ford sync won't download to my laptop.  Ford Servers struggling to cope?  All I can see is "Please Wait, it takes time to package these files", then  "Nearly there" then "Please Wait, it takes time to package these files",   If I can update Sync (having taken account of the faffing about needed on a USB stick) will I have to pay for F8 map updates  (website suggests £150!!)

Did you manage to update i’ve got exactly the same version and pick up my new car from Ford on Tuesday.

Yes I did. I was blighted with numerous issues for several months, all Ford's Fault, with either their website issues or  Ford posting corrupt files.

I now have Syn 3 V3 and F9 maps. You have to update to Sync 3 v3 first before the maps can be updated.

At the time I wanted to go to F8 maps.  Then came Lockdown!  Reply if you want more help!
