I do like getting the all clear from the doctor further to a cancer scare.  Still got lots of problems in my life but at least now I've (hopefully) got a lot of time to deal with them.

  • I do like finally finishing a model kit I first started 5 and a half years ago.  It's a very special model that i was supposed to finish by the time the aircraft took her final flights across the UK

I do like that my son passed his theory yesterday with flying colours, and I also like ordering two boxes of 200 coffee sachets for my work place as their machines don't offer decaf as a black coffee option.

yes tom, my mrs says im so laid back, im horizontal. lol

so this is my week so far

monday afternoon meeting and suspended, compiled a cv and uploaded on indeed job wesite( other job websites are available lol)

tuesday morning 20+ emails from aggencies trying to fill there vacancys. then 20+ voicemails as well, arranged 2 interviews and turned down 6 others

today first interview, then 30 mins later offered job, i accepted subject to written conformation

hopefully hand my notice in tomorrow , see how that does down. ha ha

this saga still hasnt finished!! just had phone call of the lady who offered me the job saying her director said to increase my salary even though i said i was happy with the wage structure.

I do like how unseasonally warm it is outside, 22°C on garage wall thermometer (again).

The courgettes are blooming again, instead of winding down for the autumn:laugh:

ive got rasberys that are still flowering!

For the first time since mid Spring, I've been able to cut my lawns at the correct height for the time of year (40mm)  .  if it's dry on Tuesday with no or little wind and rain is forecast for Wednesday, I will be able them feed it too.  The wrong sort of weather at the wrong time has meant they've only been fed once this year:ohmy: The lower one is looking a little undernourished:sad:

Are you sure they're not the autumn fruiting type? Which would be normal to flower now

It would however, be remarkable for the spring/summer to be still in flower

I'd almost forgotten about that accident I had, and what can I say...  £3,886.21 will sure come in handy!!

P.S. Incase anybody thinks I'm that gullible, I should point out that I am being sarcastic!

Don't ever say that!  Even in jest...

That said, there will never be a demise of Vauxhall, unfortunately.  In my home town the two main dealerships are Regency Vauxhall and Moravian Ford, so it's a divide of the Vauxhall drivers and Ford drivers.  I dare say there are more of the former, worryingly.

I dunno, Ian could be our 5th columnist:biggrin:

When he's got one the ramps, for a service, he could reprogram every Vauxhall dash display to mock or inform  the driver/owner along the lines  "Your wife/husband/girfriend/boyfriend/parents/anyone who knows you must be so ashamed you drive a Corsa/Astra/Vectra eyc",  "Welcome to Vauxhall - cars built for idiots, but driven the the idiots's idiot" or "Ditch this and buy a Ford - you know you want to"

Additionally, he could reprogram the ECU with whatever GM use (equivalent to IDS/Forscan) to make components do random things, to encourage the users to abandon the marque:laugh: and come over to Ford.

For instance:-

Accelerate to 20mph: the windscreen wipers start, at 35mph the horn honks out the theme tune to Eastenders at half tempo: at 38mph: it goes into limp mode (if Vauxhall have one) but only after 4:15pm.and be unable to to reset it until there's a leap year, when Feb 29th is a Saturday.  Indicate left and a random passenger airbag deploys. On the models with rain sensors, add the automatic window opening to coincide with the automatic wipers. Program the aircon to work the wrong way round, when it's icy outside: it'll chill you down inside to -15°C. On hot days, it'll blast out a minimum of 45°C

He could suggest to VOSA and the DOT that they introduce a new item into the MOT before the emissions test and visual check.

Q. Is it a Vauxhall - No, continue the rest of the test.  Yes, automatic FAIL

Glad my job choice is keeping you all amused. Ha ha

No matter where you work or whether or not it's crappy cars, feeling appreciated and not treated like muck is more important.

going to enjoy handing my notice in today.

Nothing wrong with working on Vauxhalls...you'll never be short of work anyway!

In pursuit of a large hasty spider Molly has cleaned behind all my floor dwelling PCs and filing cabinets,  I wonder if she can be persuaded to to do that regularly:unsure:

Bunty used to chase them, but would give up when they went behind things.  Whereas for Molly, it's an obstacle to overcome to get at the arachnid

There a few jobs with a limitless supply of work, working on Vauxhalls and grave digging are the the most obvious ones

well, just had reaction to me handing my notice in, phone call to say thanks for the letter, bullying accusation and suspension dropped, i dont need to work my 4 weeks notice, they will pay any outstanding holiday money etc and the 4 weeks notice pay. good bye.

could start new job monday. but quite enjoyed not being at work this week pottering about . might treat myself to another week off as im being paid. ha ha.

Result.

So they didn't beg you to stay?

Stuff them, move on, and it's their loss.
