I do like the introduction of plastic fivers next week...  Maybe its just me but current fivers always seem to be disgusting and scrunched or ripped, more so than 10s or 20s for some reason!

I do like getting the all clear from the doctor further to a cancer scare.  Still got lots of problems in my life but at least now I've (hopefully) got a lot of time to deal with them.

  • I do like finally finishing a model kit I first started 5 and a half years ago.  It's a very special model that i was supposed to finish by the time the aircraft took her final flights across the UK

Now, they look more durable.

I can't remember the last time I had a fiver that looked even vaguely intact or clean:unsure:.  I've got one here that looks like somebody cleaned their dipstick on it, prior to checking their oil level and then squashed a raspberry down through the queen's portrait:ohmy:

On that link, I'm curious to know who are the money eaters and chewers of the existing notes that have to replaced; I'm assuming it's 5364 dogs, cats, rodents or other pets: rather people, or people  with money eating fetishes:laugh:

Having said that. a couple of episodes ago, on Channel 4's (or was Channel 5) Inside Birmingham Children's Hospital, there was a young boy admitted, who'd swallowed the contents of his Mum's purse

This is a love from me.  For anyone who has watched Car SOS.  I met Fuzz Townshend AND SHOOK his hand and spoke to him in Sainsburys today.  Went really fan girl lol.  Bloke is a legend

Ah, yes, of course!  Terrible coffee...

I do like seeing a full shelf of Tesco loo rolls in 24pks, a moment ago, after last month's 24pk loo roll drought:smile:, not that i need any this week:mellow:.

I also like being by the deli counter, just when they were marking down various large containers full to £1.33 instead of £4.50. Although the "so called" new improved containers have a lot to be desired (see I don't like thread - carnage in my bag for life:sad:)

Brandy will like, once I've put one in her bowl, that the Tesco meat merchandiser was marking down the offal, as I went up the lamb and beef aisle.  Two packets of lamb hearts for 14p each, a box of kidneys for 35p and a box sliced liver for 33p:smile:

When Tesco discount meat, particularly on a Saturday it's reduced to 10% of the retail price.  Which is quite handy if you have an offal loving dog:smile:

Driving in the dark for the first time.

Good to get some more experience before driving to Oxford next weekend!

I don't know about you, but driving in the dark actually feels safer in many respects.  I had my first three lessons in the pitch dark (January and February).

My area has a lot of country roads with blind bends which can be lethal, but at night you can tell if there is a car coming around because you can see the headlights, whereas during the day you could be half way around the bend before the car itself suddenly appears out of nowhere!

Mind you, driving at night was lethal full stop when I first bought the Quasar...  I swear the headlamp bulbs were the originals from 1996!  Hanging a couple of paraffin lamps from the front grille would have been more effective than those on high beam.  One late night trip from Dundee to home was enough to frighten me into buying Osram Night Breakers immediately!

Thankfully that was before I drove it and my mother was driving, so I wasn't traumatised first hand...

I'm sure your Focus has good headlamps though, but if they do need an extra boost I would look into the above as upgrades.  I did consider buying them for the MK1 but its headlamps are great as they are.  Not sure if they are original or upgraded, but they work so "if it ain't broke, don't fix it!".  If/when one blows I'll definitely replace with NBs though.

Your Quasar bulbs can't be worst than Astra headlamps:unsure:, it was hard to tell you had them on, short of of getting out of the car and looking!

The Astra had one of the worst designed headlamps not only was the reflector poor, it was awkward to say the least to get the bulb out to change it.  Even with Osrams fitted, the poor reflector made it look like you were driving on a pair of cheap novelty torches with failing batteries:laugh:

Yes that's a good point Jamie! I noticed that on some of the country roads tonight that I could see cars coming round the corner by their lights and could slow down that little bit extra for corners. Yes the headlights are pretty good, no complaints. Certainly better than the lights on mums Alfa!

Speaking of which, did you eventually get rid of the Astra?

Anyone interested is a set of Netgear PowerLine 1200 network adaptors?

I like them alot and found them to be four times faster than using WiFi on the PlayStation 4

I've since installed a wired cat7 network throughout the house so no longer required.

I'm now listing in the for sale section 👍

I do like that my hero Guy martin is back with a new speed show show on channel 4. http://www.channel4.com/programmes/speed-with-guy-martin

That Tanny van show was awesome. Ford of course. What a guy he is.

Just test drove the new mondeo 1.5 ecoboost powershift. Lovely car but felt a bit underpowered with the 3 cylinder

Was there a cyl missing ?

Was there a cyl missing ?

The sales rep said it was 3cylinders looking at google now after your comment it is 4 cylinders. Also has a diesel at 120ps i think that maybe better suited to a automatic

I'm enjoying searching for home electrical products which improve the comfort and efficiency of the space aimed at saving on heating and electricity bills as much as possible without sacrificing any quality of living, obtained some really good products manufactured in the UK

Plan to document it all in my living room project thread soon, Some members asked me to document progress as they were interested at start of this year but as time went on; the project has turned in to the whole downstairs and bedroom entertainment upgrade 😛

I do like that despite her not usually liking it, well not, liking until yesterday, she seemed to quite enjoy it after we got past "growling at the comb and rake". Brandy has let me groom her back end (excluding her tail) and remove all her loose fur:smile:

There was quite a lot of loose fur:ohmy:  Every time she stood up, she'd leave some behind, on the floor, the settee, the cushions etc, she's shedding for England

I filled a 2 litre ex ice cream with the loose fur I groomed off her:ohmy:, it was mainly the soft downy under fur rather than her outer fur.

Yeah, but Lenny...the Focus started off with just a couple of little tweaks, and look how that ended up lol

some recent posts may be of interest here:

Woah, lots of my likes covered in parts of this post :) I just stick with a few.

I like a good trip to a Ford event, sharing smiles and waves with fellow Fordies that are representing and don't just have one for an 'A to B' vehicle, trying new food, a good bargain, a long smooth trail for mountain biking, horses (the four legged kind and those that congregate under the bonnet :)), skiing in general and the fresh champagne powder that comes with the visit to Banff - Canada, washing my car, my new double garage, that one time I got to do a J-Turn at 12:00 with Paul swift (FordFair2016), when inconsiderate drivers get their just rewards soon after where I can see it and laugh a little, a good thunderstorm (like the one last night!)

There's probably loads more that I just can't locate in my head right now but you know, I'm not exactly trying to write an essay :)

I do like Tom's idea working perfectly!  Granted, it took me an hour and a half - but I've syphoned approximately 40 litres of diesel (Esso Supreme) from the GTX thus giving me a full tank in the Quasar, and still around 30 litres left in the GTX to either syphon at a later date, or to use if I get the damn thing running again!

WP_20160914_15_04_01_Pro.jpg

Now I've got more than enough fuel to last me until payday, therefore any remaining funds I have (which I was keeping for fuel) can go on more important things, like alcohol!!

Thanks Tom, in hindsight it seems like an obvious solution, but until you suggested it the idea hadn't even entered my mind to use the priming bulb.
