We bonded instantly (as I did with Brandy 16 years ago), we then had a 2 hour walk around the dog walking paddocks,  followed by an hour of play and cuddling.  Like a cat, she likes to be cuddled: with her sitting on your lap and nuzzling, And we then had another hours walk, before I had to hand her back, for the visiting time period was closing, for  the day.

I told the rescue centre I would like to offer her a forever home and for them, to begin the rehoming process.  I couldn't have found a better new companion

I going to see her tomorrow for another session, and hopefully daily, until the rehoming process concludes and she finally comes to stay

i ended up dog minding today at my sons football match, they were short of linesmen so the dog owner did the line and i was volunteered by the club secretary. was quite well behaved.

Great news and can't recommend mgft enough for rehoming.

I do like reaching the end (almost) of the December-January pay period without having to beg, steal or borrow!  I'll like it even more when I finally get paid on Friday and can perhaps park another Ford outside... 

I like getting a very nice payslip showing a very healthy tax rebate. Weekly pay 3x my normal. Lovely jubley.

Lucky for some!!  I think I actually ended up paying too little tax last year on one of my payslips, so I'll probably get a nasty surprise one of these months when they deduct more than usual.

If you haven't paid enough tax then you normally get a letter from HMRC telling you. AFAIK they can't ask you to pay them in a lump sum, they will lower your tax code and take extra for several months

Very true as a few years back I got just such a letter. No lump sum taken but a reduced tax code and really it wasn't noticed the extra tax I paid.

I do like spending another 3½ hours with Pipper this afternoon. .We had a 2½ hour walk around the dog walking paddocks, slightly longer than yesterday, as every time we came down to have some off lead time in the high fenced compound; another dog was using it.   We did eventually manage to get just 18 minutes before visitor time ended.

After all the effort to acquire some tennis balls: Pipper was not that interested in ball play.  For every 5 balls thrown, she only bought one back   She did however, enjoy playing "find the sausage( or small piece of cheese)"  Although I didn't bring enough socks with me, in which to act a decoys.  Tomorrow I shall take more socks. 

I gave her her two squeaky toys that they've put in her kennel, so she can amuse herself with, her bio says she loves squeaky toys.  A flat ginger thing with a central squeaker that on the label said "a cuddly wild hariy haggis" and a bright pink cow with multiple squeakers.

In addition to sausages and small cubes of cheese, I established she loves stinky sticks but is quite indifferent to dried sprats.

Having rearranged my week, for the most part (Wednesday is still problematic) , I shall be going off to spend another 3½ hours with her tomorrow.

I do like spending the afternoon with Pipper again  We had a 2 hour walk around the dog walking paddocks in some rather dense fog, the husky that was being walked ahead of us by around 50 metres, could be scarcely seen with her white fur. 

It was then time for playing in the heated and enclosed play room.  I took 32 socks with me this afternoon, 8 of which contained a sausage.  Which enabled Pipper to play "find the sausage" for close to half an hour. Then she sat on my lap in the fashion of a cat, for a lengthy cuddle, involving tummy rubs and a head to tail massage. 

We then went into one of the off lead compounds, in between frisbie chasing and retrieving one tennis ball of every five thrown, I introduced her to the clicker, and then put her through her paces with random obedience tasks.  It's hard to tell if she's ever had any doggy training, some intermediate and advanced things she knows well: yet some basic obedience skills she lacks. 

And then it was 3pm, which meant I'd have to hand her back in 30 minutes.  We had another 15 minute walk along the walking paddock perimeter path and then back to the play room, for a final cuddle.

She seems to have worked out that when I check the time on my phone, it can mean our time together is over.  When I'm giving her a cuddle, she positions herself in such a way I can't get it out of my pocket.

Unfortunately, tomorrow at the rescue centre is vet day, which means they are closed to visitors.  So, I'll have a completely Pipper-less day

I'm not actually sure, if they operate on the same time scale as the Dog's Trust, the minimum would be 8 days from the first meeting.

They were contacting my vet for a reference today, then there's a home check to do, and they want to observe how Pipper will be around Molly.

I'd avoid your fingers first and foremost [emoji87] I had a pal once who was somewhat of a perfectionist and he was building his own roll cage for his mk1 escort. He said the most important thing was always measure twice and get your angles right. He's a clever guy, unfortunately he isn't particularly bright and he built the cage on the drive 'next' to the car, got half way through before the penny dropped!

I do like spending the most of the afternoon with Pipper, couldn't manage the full 3½ hours, due the client appointment that was proving difficult to reschedule.  I did manage to get it moved an hour earlier, so I didn't get down to Pipper until 12:45pm  Which meant we only had 2¾ hours together.   However, we did have a 2 hour walk round the dog walking paddocks, followed by some off lead free running interspersed with a bit clicker training in the off lead compound and finally a cuddle and some play

The rescue rehoming person said she'd got the reference  from Brandy's vet, and I am apparently an exemplary dog owner who put my dog's need first etc, So they won't need to do any other checks apart from meeting my Mum, who occupies part of the house.  And because Pipper came from an home where there were ducks, chickens and rabbits and her former next door neighbour had cats that used the garden, they don't want to observe how Pipper reacts to Molly, as she was indifferent to fast moving furry and feathery things.

My rehoming handover appointment is tomorrow at midday
