I do like getting the all clear from the doctor further to a cancer scare.  Still got lots of problems in my life but at least now I've (hopefully) got a lot of time to deal with them.

  • I do like finally finishing a model kit I first started 5 and a half years ago.  It's a very special model that i was supposed to finish by the time the aircraft took her final flights across the UK

I use to love, 'how!. Remember rushing home from school as it was on at about 5ish, and I learned so much from it. Kids don't get shows like that these days, sadly it's all concentrated on 'celebrity'...

And Jack's contributions were much better and more interesting than the ones from others.

Must have been before my time.  Don't recognise the name either.  I did watch How, but don't remember him on it.

I remember how. We came across an episode the professionals . Think it was an early one. Driving around in a Morris marina estate then a marina van. 😂

Let's face it, if I remember it as a kid, you weren't even born yet 🤣

I've Googled it now, turns out I watched a reboot called 'How 2' instead.

There was an older man on it, in the days when a comb-over was the height of fashion, but not the man in the picture.  Turns out his name is Fred Dineage and he was also on the original, though maybe not at the time you watched it!

Of course I remember Fred LOL This was a top show! On par with Blue Peter at the time!

Jack Hargreaves programme  Out of Town (originally made by Southern TV) was on one of the nostalgia digital satellite tv channels recently. May have been That's Christmas, You and Yesterday or Talking Pictures.

I do like *hopefully*🤞 fixing a dead Worx power tool battery. Went to charge it the other day to be met with a solid red light indicating it wasn't taking a charge!

A quick Google took me to this video

Hooked dead battery up to a freshly charged one and after a couple of minutes disconnected and then plugged it into the charger it started charging 👍

Fully charged now and waiting to see if it holds the charge.

Fantastic new idea ...............

Just because you can doesn't mean you should 🤣

Agree, daft idea. So is the silly unlock keypad on the door. Have to enter a 6 digit code .

Merry Christmas.JPG

And to you Unofix. Here I awoke to snow on the Fiesta, the smell of Bourdeaux slowly cooking through a nice piece of venison, Champers on ice  for breakfast and the turkey ready to be stuffed and cooked. Mum's Christmas pud brought over from England earlier in the month to follow.

Neighbours with a sense of humour. Mine are kind and hospitable Scots who will be throwing the house open tonight as it is Hogmanay.

For Christmas, they bought me the Haynes manual for the LHC.

I'll send Haynes the corrections next week.

HAPPY NEW YEAR to all 🎉

..... and for those following the saga of the Kuga and the alternator 'It Lives' 😀

Normal service has been restored (delayed by a few hours due the battery being flat), took it out on a 12 mile road test and all seems to be good.

Passed MOT yesterday with no advisories, happy days.

Got a message from Royal Mail yesterday advising a parcel would be delivered today in the 10.15-12.15 slot. Guy turned up bang on 10.15!😀

Things I like..

a nice pair of headlights, a nice rear end, slightly curvy lines, running costs - not so much...

Now on to cars....😂

He'd been waiting round the corner for 15 minutes!

I had a Royal Mail delivery today. Delivery was scheduled between 09:40 and 13:40. By 13:40 when we hadn't heard the doorbell or anyone banging on the door I decided to take a look and found it had been left on the doorstep in full view of the road. Obviously no idea how long it had been there. Then I received an email notification that it had been delivered and left in a "Safe Place" - an enclosed porch!! - with an invitation to "Tell us about your delivery experience". Needless to say I made very clear my opinion of their service.

Usually Royal Mail round here is pretty good so they must have taken on some cowboy who doesn't normally cover our area.

Before you ask I have checked the doorbell is working.

I find they're generally better than average (Evri are the worst) but I have had quite valuable items left on the doorstep by RM.

Most annoying one was when I got advice of a delivery coming on a day when I was going to be away for a short break. So I entered a request for it to be delivered to my local PO for collection later, they acknowledged the change, then still left it in full view and sent me a photo of it on the doorstep for good measure!

Not much I could do, fortunately still there when I returned home, local scrotes must also have been on holiday!😀

Think yourself lucky you don't live in France. La Poste is absolutely awful. Christmas card sent December 10 arrived yesterday.

Amazon orders have about a 50% chance of arriving at all. If it is valuable enough to have to be signed for, 30%.  The rest arrives less than a week late.

I just saw the advert for Center Parcs which was the venue for the most miserable New Year I ever spent. The graphics feature great big bubbles. I can't be the only one who associates this with a certain 1960s TV series!
